The Grand Golf Intensive

Designed to focus on total golf game improvement and development rather than typical swing-only techniques, this exceptional instruction program was developed by The Grand Del Mar's director of golf Shawn Cox and Lance Gill, co-director of the Titleist Performance Institute (TPI) Fitness Advisory Board utilizing strategies and methods from top professional golfers and their coaches.

Participants can choose from three-day, two-day, one-day or half-day sessions with longer programs including golf club fitting, hands-on fitness and more intensive work on golf swing and games skills assessment, as well as luxurious accommodations and meals at The Grand Del Mar.

Select highlights of the multi-tiered program include:

• A comprehensive physical screening aimed at identifying physical limitations
• A biomechanical and video evaluation of swing style
• On-course evaluation including process, course management tactics and technique
• A fitness module focused on developing a specific workout plan for each participant
• Evaluation of physical swing and body swing connection or correlation
• Short game evaluation – a key part of golf development often overlooked

Cox, a TPI level three certified fitness, biomechanics and junior instructor, is partnering with Gill, who as co-director of the TPI Fitness Advisory Board helps to establish protocols for player development in the fields of functional physical swing review, movement restoration, physical screening techniques and strength and power screening and development.

Price starts at $950 for a half-day session. For more information and appointments, call The Grand Golf Club at 858-314-1930.
