New Happenings at Cape Town's Iconic Mount Nelson Hotel
Newly-refurbished Oasis Wing rooms and culinary offerings, coupled with beautiful garden sculptures on display provide even more reasons to travel to Cape Town this season.
The recently completed renovations on thirty rooms in the Oasis Wing add fresh and bright color schemes to the vibrant property. Situated alongside the swimming pool and overlooking the hotel's gardens with views of Signal Hill and Table Bay, the newly refreshed rooms evoke a timeless, classic feel.
Exquisitely embroidered curtains frame the windows while locally made Moorgas and Sons light wood furniture compliment the three different color schemes. The property is also displaying original and eye-catching artwork from the neighboring Michaelis School of Fine Art, depicting the diverse colorful heritage of Cape Town.

Also unveiled this season is award-winning Chef Rudi Liebenberg's latest creation, Oasis Bistro. Formerly known as the Oasis, the former buffet-style dining room has made way for a new a-la-carte Mediterranean-inspired menu with a few quintessential local classics. The restaurant's airy ambience and contemporary al fresco flair matches its updated menu selection of local seafood and produce, grilled meats and an exceptional Salade Nicoise. Its informal atmosphere makes the dining venue a warm and welcoming place to have a sunny bite. Complemented by an extensive wine and cocktail list, as well as its inviting terrace overlooking the swimming pool, Oasis Bistro is well set to become Cape Town's hottest new summer spot.

Currently on display until April 1, the hotel is also presenting a collection of contemporary South African sculptures by Everard Read Gallery. The property's nine acres of lush and tranquil gardens and Table Mountain views provide the perfect backdrop to the bronze, steel and wood art pieces. Exhibiting artists include Samuel Allerton, Deborah Bell, Lorraine Edelstein, Dylan Lewis, Speelman Mahlangu, Anton Momberg, Olivia Musgrave, Angus Taylor, Shany van den Berg, Strijdom van der Merwe and Florian Wozniak. Guests can view the works in their own time or guided tours can be arranged through the gallery.
