New Ian Fleming International Airport Opens In Jamaica
Formerly known as the Boscobel Airstrip, the facility has undergone extensive refurbishment and expansion and has been built to facilitate the arrival of private jets as large as the Dash-8. Features include a passenger lounge, pilot briefing room, customs and immigration clearance, and other specialised services for private flights.

Elizabeth Fox, UK Regional Director of the Jamaica Tourist Board for Northern Europe, said: "The opening of the new international airport will allow international passengers landing by private aircraft to enjoy an easier and more enjoyable experience when arriving in Jamaica. The proximity of the new airport to some of the Island's most popular coastal resorts also makes it an even more attractive point of entry for our luxury seeking international travellers."

The opening of the Ian Fleming International Airport is a clear example of Jamaica's ambition and confidence in its aviation industry, and is expected to boost tourism in the surrounding north coast resort areas As well as becoming the main port of entry for private jets to Jamaica, it is hoped that in the future the Ian Fleming International Airport will also support flight schedules to surrounding Caribbean islands.
