New Luxury Tents at Cottar's Safaris in Time for Annual Migration

The award-winning Cottar’s Safaris has added two new luxury double tents to Cottar’s 1920s Camp, as well as two fully renovated double tents, which will all be available from July 1, 2023 – just in time for the great wildebeest migration.

There is no better or more authentic place to witness this phenomenon, as Cottar’s Safaris sits away from the masses upon a privileged elevated viewpoint on a private conservancy and is the first place point of entry as the animals cross the Tanzanian border.

The new cream canvas tents will be a spacious 538 square feet (50 square metres), featuring spectacular views across the savannah, gorgeous wooden floors, a sumptuous living room area, ensuite bathrooms and a fully stocked drinks station, all while maintaining Cottar’s Safaris’ iconic and romantic 1920s aesthetic. One new tent will feature a stunning outdoor bathroom and, in addition to the traditional canvas baths available in all tents, there will be a new and secluded wooden hot tub, set away from the camp with its own private viewing platform, available upon request to camp guests.

With the addition of these two new tents, Cottar’s 1920s Camp will comprise eleven luxury tents - which includes six luxury double tents, two romantic Honeymoon Tents and three open-planned Family Tented Suites, all with ensuite bathrooms, living rooms with cozy fireplaces and plenty of space and privacy.

Located in the private Olderkesi Conservancy, which borders the famous Maasai Mara in Kenya, Cottar’s Safaris offers a bespoke and truly sustainable safari experience. It is owned and managed by the fifth-generation of the Cottar family, the oldest established and continuing safari family who has been operating in Africa for more than 100 years. The Cottar family provides genuinely stunning wildlife and wilderness experiences, engaging in the original spirit and essence of “safari”: an abundance of wildlife, guaranteed privacy and the highest standards of professional guiding, within a luxurious and authentic safari environment.

Available from $1,558 per person per night, based on two people sharing on a full board basis. Price includes wildlife drives, walking safaris, Maasai Warrior School and a vast array of experiential and education activities (excluding park and conservation fees).
