New Spa Opens At The Lodge at Glendorn
Under the supervision of Spa Director Jennifer Herzog, the menu features a selection of treatments from Pevonia along with locally inspired massages and body treatments using estate grown ingredients such as honey, blackberries, strawberries and lavender. In addition to treatments from Pevonia and others using ingredient grown on property, guests have the option to participate in a unique “Wild Crafted Wellness Experience” at The Forest Spa, where they can forage for their own ingredients throughout the 1,500-acre property and learn how to create products under the guidance of the “Spa Chef.”

“The spa complements the many active pursuits we offer on property and is a great way to unwind after a day of fishing, hiking, biking or just enjoying the great outdoors,” said The Lodge at Glendorn Owner Cliff Forrest. “We are excited to provide our guests with a relaxing and pampering experience to enjoy while staying with us.”

Specialty treatment highlights include the hot stone massage, which uses stones from the Fuller Brook stream on property. Guests who select the “Wild Crafted Wellness Experience” will work the “Spa Chef” to gather ingredients on property to create seasonal treatments with option to bring their handmade products home or provide to their esthetician for their treatment. This summer, the Wild Crafted treatments are either a berry antioxidant or lavender scrub with lemon balm and rose water. Even the little ones can receive treatments with a special “Bunny Patch” menu complete with a spa petite facial and a petite manicure and pedicure.

Designed by Gil Walsh, award winning interior designer of the prominent Pittsburgh Duquesne Club, Glendorn's 1,024 square foot three-treatment room spa draws inspiration from the neighboring Allegheny National Forest. Rich wood flooring and twig furniture are complemented by a natural color scheme, creating a tranquil woodlands vibe. A locally crafted fireplace in the relaxation room is made of hand painted tiles that depict the serene forest. The Forest Spa also offers a retail shop, carrying a selection of Paddywax candles, Fleur't Pajamas, Chadsworth and Haig robes and Sonoma Lavender heat wraps.

Rates at The Lodge at Glendorn start at $425 per night, double occupancy. For more information or to book a reservation on property and to experience the spa, please visit www.glendorn.com or call (814) 362-6511.
