Whether it’s a minimony, microwedding or elopement now on one’s radar due to Covid’s impact on planned grand wedding galas at home, Velas Resorts’ new Weddings for Two experiences feature an array of deluxe amenities and inclusions for boutique destination nuptials.
In tune with the local cultures, the betrothed can opt for a Mayan-inspired wedding at Grand Velas Riviera Maya or a Huichol-inspired wedding at Grand Velas Riviera Nayarit, Casa Velas, or Velas Vallarta in Puerto Vallarta. A private vow exchange aboard Grand Velas Los Cabos’ 55-foot Azimut Yacht, Bella, will likely entail some additional guests. From November – January, the humpback whale migration brings these giants to Mexico’s Baja Peninsula. A bouquet and boutonniere, one-layer cake, and sparkling wine toast complement the experience. To help capture the special day, a private 30-minute photo session and 10 photos is also included.
Additional offerings for the newly betrothed to enjoy some alone time together range from a private cinema on the beach and romantic bonfire-lit dinner to daily hydrotherapy and a 50-minute couples’ massage. For couples staying at one of the Grand Velas Resort properties, an upgrade to an oceanfront Grand Class suite with a private plunge pool on the private terrace ensures additional luxe privacy. Round-trip private airport transportation is also an added perk.
If couples elect to invite their close family and friends, all wedding packages can be adapted for small groups up to 30. Otherwise, couples can live stream their wedding or enlist one of the hotel’s wedding social media concierges that will post real-time to capture the special moments for family members and friends that are unable to attend the wedding.

Rates for the Weddings for 2 Experience begin at $3,000 USD for solely the couple. Additional guests can be accommodated at an additional cost.
