Newly Redesigned Oceana Debuts in Santa Monica

Newly Redesigned Oceana Debuts in Santa Monica

Sweeping ocean views, custom, high-end furnishings, lush outdoor lounges, private terraces, tranquil simplicity and all the comforts of home. The newly reimagined Oceana brings this dream to life this fall - a modern boutique hotel tucked away in a rare residential setting within Santa Monica’s coveted neighborhood off Ocean Avenue. The redesigned, 70-suite coastal hideaway combines the allure of a private beach home with the glamour of a five-star luxury hotel to offer guests an experience unlike any other.  Just blocks away from the boutiques and cafes on Montana Avenue, and a short walk from the world-famous Santa Monica Pier and Third Street Promenade, Oceana brings a personal connection to the Southern California way of life.

The chic hotel offers exclusive access to a lush outdoor courtyard lounge and swimming pool, as well as a private indoor-outdoor restaurant and bar curated by Santa Monica restaurateur Raphael Lunetta, allowing sophisticated guests an exclusive stylish social gathering space. It comes complete with a new entrance and lobby that offers guests an unparalleled sense of arrival, as if they are returning home to their personal beach house that overlooks the scenic coast. To complete the residential feeling of Oceana, the hotel offers striking guest suites with sea views and custom elegant furnishings, a state-of-the-art fitness studio and spa treatment room, and a picturesque Sunset Terrace with an outdoor fireplace and stunning views of the Pacific Ocean.

Guests are ushered into the grand, two-story entrance and met by a stunning living room, complete with a hanging glass light installation by Alison Berger, a contemporary fire pit and cerused oak wood shiplap paneling. Interior designer Anna Busta, of Busta Studio in NYC and best known for her high-end residential interior design work, brought her expertise decorating luxury private homes to life throughout the property. Her modern design captivates the senses across every inch of the coastal home-away-from-home, and includes soothing color palettes, gold metal accents, bold geometric patterns and extensive wood finishes. Included in the design is a custom art program in collaboration with local L.A. artists and international photographers.

The property’s 70 suites, all of which are adorned with dried lavender at the door, are equipped with furnishings designed to make guests feel right at home with accent pieces including rich, deep blue velvet sofas, four-poster beds, luxe minibars with luxury glassware and high-end offerings, and hand tufted rugs from Nepal. Rooms include Loro Piana bedding and Frette linens, spa-inspired bathrooms with Bottega Veneta bath amenities and state-of-the-art technology, including 65-inch flat screen TVs and personal iPads that control everything from temperature to light settings and allow guests to order room service with the swipe of their finger. To round out the property’s sense of home, Oceana offers complimentary sea-blue beach cruisers that allow guests to explore the area by bicycle, as well as a luxury house car service to transport them to all the most popular destinations in Santa Monica.

Exclusively for guests, the onsite, indoor-outdoor restaurant serves up seasonal Californian cuisine rooted in hyper-local ingredients from the world-famous Santa Monica Farmers Market. Surrounded by lush greenery and blooms from landscape architecture firm Perry Guillot of the Hamptons, the extraordinary courtyard and pool offer guests a chic daytime lounge for sunbathing, and a posh evening hideout complete with al fresco dining, cocktails and a chic outdoor fireplace. The freeform pool, situated at the heart of the property, is lined with olive trees and oversized day beds perfect for sipping afternoon cocktails. Beyond the courtyard, guests will find the all-new fitness studio equipped with state-of-the-art machines from Peloton and Technogym. Personal trainers are available for one-on-one sessions upon request and the adjacent spa treatment room offers a full-service spa menu, manicure and pedicure station and salon chair for hair services.

The new Oceana provides a refuge and retreat from everyday life, while staying within close proximity to the liveliness of Santa Monica as well as Malibu, Beverly Hills, and Venice Beach. The hotel has a luxe, intimate residential feel - warm, welcoming and alive, with brilliantly executed designs that embody a whole new level of sophistication.
