In late 2021 Playa Viva, the founding member of Regenerative Travel, introduced 6 new treehouses designed based on drone footage of the Mobula Manta Ray migration in front of the resort. They are suspended in mid-air by palm trees that were transplanted from the property’s own coconut grove and now serve as living piers, providing a vegetative fabric to protect the dunes.
Guests can partake in daily beachside yoga classes, choose from a variety of massage services, and visit the resort’s baby sea turtle sanctuary. Local operators lead excursions to explore the stunning natural landscape of the coast and local communities around the region, providing meaningful personal engagement with the people and the environment.
Chef Daniel and the culinary team source ingredients from the on-site farm. Some of these ingredients include coconuts, mangos, cashews, tamarind, tomatoes, lettuces, cactus and other earthly delights, such as cacao for the property’s homemade chocolate.
Located 35 minutes south of Zihuatanejo-Ixtapa International (ZIH) Airport on a mile of pristine beach on the Pacific Coast of Mexico. Airport transportation is included in one’s stay.

A unique Eco Luxury destination, Playa Viva has something for everyone. Choose from among 18 eco-luxury rooms, each with a beachfront view. Guests are invited to immerse themselves in nature, attend a daily morning yoga session, volunteer in the turtle sanctuary, give back to the local community, engage in a workshop, or just relax completely in paradise.
Room Rates are from $265-$620 per night. Room rates are based on seasonality and per person in room. Seasons are Low, High (generally Nov to May) and Holiday (only includes weeks of Christmas and New Year). Room rates are based on double occupancy and price goes down for single occupancy. Additional fees are included for each adult (18 and over) or child (5-17) added to room. Infants (less than 5) are at no additional fee. Rates include airport ground transport (to and from ZIH), all meals (including snacks), all beverages (except bar, blended drinks, smoothies and organic coconuts), daily yoga, WiFi in common area as well as tips, taxes and a donation to the Regenerative Trust.
