“Nobu Hospitality Founders, Nobu Matsuhisa, Robert De Niro, and Meir Teper celebrate the opening of Nobu Hotel Marrakech at a Sake Ceremony alongside hotel owners, Ahmed Bennani and Daniel Shamoon.”
Nobu Hotel Marrakech celebrated its official opening on May 25th with a signature Sake Ceremony, hosted by Nobu Hospitality Founders, Meir Teper, Robert De Niro and Nobu Matsuhisa, alongside hotel owners Daniel Shamoon and Ahmed Bennani.
The event marked the opening of the global lifestyle brand’s first hotel venture into Africa which opened its doors in January 2023. The Sake Ceremony is an ancient Japanese ritual that includes the breaking and opening of a round sake barrel lid that symbolizes harmony and good fortune. This ritual is an integral part of each Nobu Hotel and Restaurants’ official launch into the destination.
Guests enjoyed an evening of celebrations at Nobu Hotel Marrakech – an atmospheric space that pays homage to the buildings past while introducing Nobu’s modern Japanese style to Morocco for the first time. Celebrations continued in the new Nobu restaurant & bar where guests enjoyed Lychee & Almond Delight mocktails, complemented by locally inspired canapes such as Crispy Artichokes and Lobster Salad with Goma Dressing Argan Oil, and signature Nobu dishes, Black Cod Miso.
