Oceans Edge Key West Hotel & Marina Officially Opens Its Doors
Oceans Edge Key West is not only the first hotel built on Stock Island, one of the seven islands that make up Key West, but is also the largest property spanning 20 acres of oceanfront land built at the edge of two oceans – Atlantic & the Gulf of Mexico. As the only hotel property with on-site marina access, Oceans Edge Key West also holds the distinction of having the closest US-based marina to Cuba (163 slips in total.)

Additional coveted guest amenities include the distinction of being the only property to offer oceanfront views for all 175 superior guest rooms and suites as well as six sparkling swimming pools (the most of any resort on the island,) delectable all-day dining at Yellow Fin Bar & Grille, a full service waterfront bar and restaurant, on-site Starbucks, dedicated water sports offerings and paddle shop as well as a dog park to accommodate the resort's pet-friendly nature.
For the first time in the island's history, visitors will have the opportunity to stay and play on the other side of Key West as they discover the unique charm and authenticity of Stock Island. Located just four miles from Old Town, Oceans Edge is close enough to experience the energy of Key West without sacrificing the experience of a private, oceanfront paradise.

Developed by The Singh Company, a leading real estate and hospitality developer in the Florida Keys, Oceans Edge Key West features a fresh and contemporary interior design that seamlessly pays tribute to the colorful community of Key West, from its historical conch-style architecture to the working marinas, artistic flair and tropical foliage. Three-story residential style structures span the property's 20 acres and feature classic Keys design elements to the likes of; decorative archways, reclaimed ship wood, clapboard exteriors and open breezeways emphasizing the beauty of indoor outdoor living and the surrounding ocean and marina.

“Blending timeless with tradition has become a cornerstone of the Singh design aesthetic and Oceans Edge is no exception” says Ann Johnson, who spearheaded the design of the property. “The namesake of the hotel has set the stage for the design narrative we have created – life at the edge of the ocean. It was a luxury to be able to create a truly residential and modern setting for guests that blends indoor and outdoor living so seamlessly,” adds Johnson, “we strived to tell a modern interpretation of Key West through some of the statement decor pieces found in each guest room that act as a nod to some of the precious cargo that would have decorated the homes of some of the area's most successful wrecking families. From Chinese porcelain to colonial furniture, oil paintings and exotic fabrics, every thoughtful detail holds authenticity to the destination.”

Guests of Oceans Edge will feel as though they have just entered a private paradise, as lush tropical landscaping can be found in every inch of the 20 acre complex, including 300 palm trees and a plethora of native plants. Traditional teak and holly flooring canvasses the lobby, reminiscent of a historic schooner docked steps away at the marina. An eclectic collection of large-scale modern art transcends the space, as if you've been invited to view the private archives of one of Key West's most prominent art collectors. From the moment of arrival, guests can relax and unwind on traditional West Indies-style caned sofas or custom wooden rocking chairs outfitted on the lobby's front porch.

Modern-meets-classic motifs continue to resonate in each of the 175 guestrooms and suites. A tasteful Key West-style palette of cobalt, ivory, and accents of green compliment the stunning oceanfront balcony views that set the stage for every 382 sq ft standard room. A series of luxuriant fabrics and materials are implemented throughout the space, from ocean blue carpeting to custom woven wicker, crisp white lacquer, and plush bedding. Luxury and serenity are illustrated at every touch, especially evident in the spacious and spa-like bathrooms. Hand-screened accent pillows adorn plush bedding while carefully curated shelving of art and literature from local Keys sculptors, printmakers, painters and writers give each room a sense of place. In true Singh Resort fashion, this eclectic collection celebrates a range of local talent, including limited edition signed prints and custom ceramic vases by artist Adam Russell, whimsical canvases depicting the reef by artist Dawn Wilkins, antique maps of the Keys, and vibrant Giclées of coconuts by artist Lynne Fischer. Guests can opt to space out a little more in a 575 sq ft suite that includes a separate sitting area outfitted with cobalt blue furnishings, oversized wet bar and breathtaking waterfront views. The two room types are differentiated as A & B units; both can be accessed from a communal foyer and can be rented individually or as an entire conjoined 2 bedroom unit.

Spread throughout the lush 20 acre property, are six jewel-like swimming pools, the most of any hotel in Key West. Pristine limestone pool patios are accented with nearly 100 Italian-made terracotta chaise lounges, pergola-topped lounge areas and oversized sun pods. Every inch of pool deck and the property as a whole lends itself to panoramic ocean views, allowing one to feel immersed in the ocean even when taking a dip in the pool. Cocktail and food service will also be available at the main pool, allowing guests to sun, swim and sip throughout the day and well into the evening.

Yellow Fin Bar & Grille, a waterfront, indoor-outdoor full service restaurant will pay homage to the working industrial neighborhoods of Stock Island Key West through both design and cuisine. Elements of steel and salt-brined wood and long community tables encourage the friendly, embracing and unpretentious atmosphere people from all walks of life come to Key West to experience. A sweeping custom mural by artist, Elkpen, will lie as the backdrop to the main bar and continue to illustrate the resort's commitment to celebrating the “art” of hospitality. The culinary program will feature American fare with Caribbean influences, as a nod to the melting pot of culture and cuisines that Key West has embraced throughout the years.

Oceans Edge Key West Hotel & Marina will be located at 5950 Peninsula Ave, Key West, Florida.
