Paducah Offers Spring and Summer Activities

From celebrated annual art events to a new craft beer festival, the city's offerings are sure to create lasting memories for visitors of charming Paducah.

Paducah Iron Mom Half Marathon, May 7
This Mother's Day weekend, Paducah will host the 6th Annual Lourdes Paducah Iron Mom Half Marathon. Runners will line up on Saturday, May 7, for the race which begins and ends in scenic downtown Paducah. The event benefits

Lower Town Arts & Music Festival, May 13 – 14
The Lower Town Arts & Music Festival celebrates the cultural richness of Western Kentucky with the region's most outstanding visual, performing and culinary arts. The free festival features vendor booths showcasing more than 50 visiting artists along with open studios and galleries of Lower Town's resident artists, live music on three outdoor stages and a Taste of Paducah featuring local food vendors. Carson Center Vintner's Dinner featuring Revelry Vintners, May 19

Creative Collaborations: Working Together, June 16
Organized by the Paducah Arts Advisory Committee, the Creative Collaborations series provides an opportunity for the public, art lovers and art collectors to experience the creativity and diversity of Paducah's arts community. Working Together, taking place June 16 from 4-8 p.m., is a collaborative exhibition highlighting the diversity and creativity of Paducah's art scene at venues in throughout the Lower Town Arts District. PaBREWcah Beer Fest, June 18
Taking place Saturday, June 18 from 2-5pm, the PaBREWcah Beer Fest is the first festival of its kind in historic Paducah. A celebration of all things craft beer, festival-goers will have the opportunity to sample unique craft beer from over a dozen microbreweries, including Paducah's own

Fantastic Fibers, now through June 4
One of Yeiser Art Center's most engaging and innovative international exhibits, the annual
Fantastic Fibers
showcases 49 pieces of contemporary fiber art chosen by juror Danielle Kelly, executive director of the Surface Design Association, from over 570 submissions from 41 states and 15 countries. All are invited to experience the magnificent creations, on exhibit now through June 4.
Visual Elegy, June 18 – July 23
The prints in this exhibit are inspired by the poetry collection Appalachian Elegy and its author, bell hooks, an acclaimed social activist, feminist theorist, artist, and native Kentuckian. The 26 printmakers who have contributed to this project offer a variety of beautiful and compelling interpretations of hooks' work. These nationally recognized female artists reside in 20 different states.
Art Through the Lens, July 30 through Sept. 24
This international juried photo exhibition, Art Through the Lens, opens July 30. The annual exhibit displays exquisite photography from artists all over the world. In 2015, the exhibition received nearly 900 entries from eight countries of which 75 were accepted for admission into the show.
