Palazzo Manfredi Hotel in Rome Unveils New Suite
The contemporary suite is named after the ancient Ludus Mangnus ruins it overlooks. Built between 81-96 AD by Emperor Domitian, The Ludus Magnus was ancient Rome's largest and most prestigious gladiator training school, located right alongside the famous Roman Colosseum.

The suite's design was overseen by architect Giorgia Dennerlein of Lotodesign, who has orchestrated other projects for the Manfredi Fine Hotel Collection, including the Colosseum Suite, which was inaugurated last year; the hotel's rooftop AROMA restaurant; and the Penthouse Suite at sister property Hotel Punta Tragara on the Isle of Capri.

Inspiration for the suite came from the historic imperial homes of Rome, which can be seen in the warm hues of gold and bronze incorporated throughout the room. The suite was also enhanced with touches of modernity seen in the contemporary wallpaper and lighting designs.

Roman opulence is present in the choice of oversized furnishings in the living area. Prestigious Italian brands include a sofa by Maralunga Magistretti, which can be turned into a double bed; two vintage velvet armchairs by Dedar; gold and silver checkered ottomans by the Campana brothers; and a storage unit by Ciatti.
The palatial bathroom also pays tribute to ancient Rome. The use of marble and glass are modeled after the austere environments of the Roman baths. In addition, guests can admire sights of the Colosseum from their large glass enclosed shower.
