In celebration of King Charles’ Coronation in May 2023, Pelorus announces a celebratory journey through England and Scotland. From travelling by helicopter over London to see the royal sights, enjoying accommodation fit-for-a-king and dinner on a superyacht docked opposite the Tower of London, to a decadent afternoon tea experience in the Cotswolds with a royal butler, and even meet and greets with the Royal Family, this is the ultimate itinerary to follow in the King’s footsteps through some of his most intriguing visits through the UK.
“It’s an incredibly exciting year to be British. In May, a new King will be crowned; the first in 70 years and a celebration that will be enjoyed by millions. To honour this momentous occasion, we’ve opened our black book of connections to develop a range of exclusive experiences that will make a trip to the United Kingdom for those inspired by the royal family,” comments Geordie Mackay-Lewis, Co-Founder and CEO of Pelorus Travel & Yachting.
As preparations to mark His Majesty’s Coronation gather pace across the UK, Pelorus’ Guides are gearing up too, for expertly guided tours of royal sites and itineraries to engage travellers of all interests and ages in the significance of this historic event. Available to book from February 2023, guests are invited to take a peek behind the royal curtain with Pelorus.
Itinerary highlights include:
London Complete with accommodation at The Goring - a firm favourite of the Royal family - Pelorus will be offering an exclusive helicopter ride over the capital to take in the city’s most iconic sites. No royal experience is complete without a trip to Hyde Park to watch the Household Cavalry Division march on horseback - all before travellers can retire for an evening dining experience on a luxury superyacht docked opposite the Tower of London.
The Cotswolds Whilst a stay at Highgrove – private residence of His Majesty The King and Her Majesty The Queen Consort - might be out of reach for most, travellers can still relax in the lap of at Cliveden House, where Meghan Markle stayed the night before her wedding, or the luxurious Thyme Hotel in the heart of the picture-perfect Cotswolds.
After being dropped by helicopter from London, adventurers will enjoy Afternoon Tea with a royal butler, before being whisked through the Cotswolds in an Aston Martin to Blenheim Palace, a masterpiece of Baroque architecture, for a private dinner like no other.
The next day, enjoy a private polo experience with Prince William’s team mates on the Great Tew estate before a visit to Gatcombe Park to meet extended members of the Royal Family.
It doesn’t get better than a hot air balloon ride the following morning during sunrise to see Highgrove Estate from above.
Edinburgh & St Andrews With accommodation options at Gleneagles Townhouse or Fife Arms - both imaginative art-filled hotels close to Balmoral Castle, guests will enjoy behind the scenes access to Scottish Royal estates. An array of tours awaits including out of hours access to Holyrood Castle and Edinburgh Castle, a behind the scenes tour of Royal Britannia before opening, followed by a private showcase of St Andrews, where Kate and William met.
Balmoral & The Scottish Highlands Travellers will then travel by 4 x 4 to a highland estate near Braemar to enjoy lunch in a beautiful, private bothy, accompanied by Scottish storytelling and music.
For the more adventurous traveller, take a beautiful hike led by expert guides to the historical cairns erected by the Royal Family on the Balmoral Estate, before an exclusive tour of the childhood home of the Queen’s Mother and a whiskey tasting in the Royal Lochnagar Distillery - originally made for Queen Victoria’s banquets.
