Philadelphia's Iconic Rittenhouse Hotel Debuts New Park Suites
Designed by acclaimed interior designer Alexandra Champalimaud, the Park Suites take the art of gracious living to new heights with expansive floor plans, enchanting treetop views of Rittenhouse Square, and world-class design that blends the landmark hotel's classic style and elegance with a fresh, new look to deliver a more contemporary experience for guests.

“At The Rittenhouse, we believe the best hotel experiences should be both bespoke and residential in nature,” said Reginald Archambault, General Manager of The Rittenhouse. “The new Park Suites evoke a modern, yet refined, design sensibility without sacrificing the timeless spirit and traditions that define our beloved hotel, and we look forward to introducing these new offerings to our guests this summer.”

Located on the third floor, the Park Suites offer a true guest-in-residence experience, marrying refined design with practical functionality and supreme comfort. Ranging from 450 to 1,330 square feet, even the most modest of the five suites offers an ideal setting to unwind and relax, while the largest suite, commanding an impressive corner view of Rittenhouse Square, can be extended by opening onto the adjoining suite, providing ample room to gather and entertain. The suites' size and amenities make them ideal for vacationing with families in a spacious retreat or comfortably accommodating up to twenty-five guests for events.

The Rittenhouse selected the internationally renowned design team to create an ambiance that is both sophisticated and inviting. Champalimaud's team has set the design style for properties such as Hotel Bel-Air in Los Angeles, The Carlyle in Manhattan, Claridge's and The Berkeley in London and many other iconic hotels across the globe. A masterful blend of art, architecture and design, the Park Suites were conceived with their own unique personality and color signature, complemented by a natural palette of oak wood floors and stained grey anigre millwork, wool carpets, vein-cut eramosa marble kitchens and silver travertine bathrooms. The custom furnishings are traditional in style with subtle touches of art deco and classic 20th century influence, while the floor-to-ceiling windows and low windowsills combined with silk draperies, textured wall coverings and tactile fabrics capture the warmth of the suite's sun-drenched rooms and sweeping treetop views of iconic Rittenhouse Square.

“We designed the five signature spaces to celebrate the wonderful views of the Square,” said Alexandra Champalimaud. “We were inspired by the balance between sophisticated sensibility and classic style found throughout the hotel, and we felt a responsibility to preserve this rich history, while offering guests a new experience.”

Opening into an expansive living area with sitting room, dining space and a private kitchen and bar, the Park Suites serve as a true urban sanctuary for guests. Each master bedroom is anchored by a burnt oak 4-poster king bed with sand Belgian linen fabric upholstery. The en-suite bath inspires calm relaxation with a walk-in shower adorned with Kohler massage shower and separate silver travertine bathtub, as well as plush bathrobes and Acqua di Parma Spa bath amenities. All suites have custom mood lighting, complimentary in-room wireless high speed internet access, 42” flat panel high-definition televisions and custom wet bars with refrigeration and built in microwave ovens.

The re-awakened adjoining Gallery entry provides an impressive and private arrival experience designed exclusively for the Park Suites. Carefully curated displays of books and artworks gathered specifically for their relevance to the history of Philadelphia combined with a refined color scheme of stained grey anigre millwork, inviting chartreuse leather chairs and soft lighting, the Gallery redesign creates a hushed sense of privacy for guests wishing to escape the vibrancy of the city.
