5. SPA RELAXATION

The Spa at Blue Waters works with ila to bring you a range of sumptuous, organic treatments. There’s no better way to get into holiday mode than by soothing your tired muscles and rejuvenating your mind, body and soul with a treatment at the spa. You will feel completely relaxed and rejuvenated with unique treatments and facials when you visit Blue Waters' spa.

I treated myself to the 90-minute "Pearl & Jasmine Body Renewal" and it was as enjoyable as it sounds!  This treatment is an energizing full-body exfoliating scrub using mineral rich Himalayan salt designed to make your skin silky soft and rejuvenate you from head to toe. The scrub is followed by a soothing Jasmine body wrap and massage to relax and restore the nervous system, stimulating the circulation, and regeneration of skin cells.  Afterward, I felt like a new person!

Alternatively, you can treat yourself to ultimate pampering at Blue Waters’ salon, where a range of hair treatments are designed to make you look and feel fabulous while on holiday. In addition, the resort offers a full bridal service for your intimate destination wedding in Antigua.

6. ABUNDANCE OF ACTIVITIES

The resort has also added a new and larger vessel to its collection designed to offer an exclusive journey from the island of Antigua to the stunning, pink sand beaches of its sister island, Barbuda.

7. PERSONALIZED, FRIENDLY SERVICE

Tario Herbert, Food and Beverage Supervisor, offers a weekly rum tasting where he explains the history of rum making on the island. We learned that light rums are used for mixed cocktails and aged rums can be sipped and enjoyed over ice. Our favorite was the 5-Year English Harbour Rum which tasted so smooth and pleasurable. Tario also makes his own small-batch rum right at the resort.

The resort's staff is a pleasure.  Whether we were at breakfast, dinner or at the pool bar, they always remembered our names and preferences. You will leave feeling like you are part of the family.

8. FAMILY RUN, FAMILY FRIENDLY

Blue Waters is a family-owned resort by the Randall family from the UK, and they welcome children of all ages. The resort offers a comprehensive kids program for ages 5–12 and they have a wide range of accommodations that are perfect for families. Accommodation options are as flexible as they are luxurious, perfect for families of all sizes. Families of three or four will feel right at home in the Deluxe Beachfront Rooms that can adjoin and the Luxury Suites. For large or multi-generational families, the palatial penthouses and villas offer generous living spaces, replete with plush furnishings, private infinity pools and breathtaking sea views.

For families staying at the resort, Blue Waters invites children between the ages of 5 and 12 years old to experience the resort’s private kid’s club.  Ran by Ainsley Smith, an educated and trained pre-school teacher with over 15 years of experience in early childcare, she is always thinking of new creative ideas to spark children’s curiosity. Centered around an indoor play area & shaded secret garden, kids are invited to catch lizards, fish off the rocks, and design Antiguan shak-shak paintings. The club is open Monday to Friday with morning sessions from 9am to 12pm and afternoon sessions from 2pm to 4pm.

We loved the expansive, open airy lobby and bar for an inspiring and comfortable place to hang out any time of day. Entertainment is offered most nights of the week featuring live bands. The resort offers three bars -- Veronica's Bar by the pool and The Reef bar by the beach are open during the day, and Pelican Bar off the lobby is open each evening.
