Located in Sydney (Australia), the Sofitel Sydney Wentworth is delighted to throw open its doors and begin welcoming guests again. With 436 guest rooms and suites, the hotel’s original charm has been reignited and modernised for the 21st century.
Situated in the heart of Sydney’s central business district, Sofitel Sydney Wentworth offers unparalleled convenience, being located just minutes from iconic landmarks such as the Sydney Opera House, Sydney Harbour Bridge and the luxury fashion district.
A refreshed Sydney icon
The refurbishment re-ignites and celebrates the hotel’s glamorous past while propelling it firmly into the future. Originally opened in 1966, the building was designed in a post-war minimalist style and was the largest brick structure in the Southern Hemisphere. Now, the hotel embodies the essence of ‘Modern Heritage’, with much of the refurbishment led by architecture and interior design firm FK. In line with Sofitel’s Cultural Link, the brand logo consisting of two intertwining curves standing for two cultures that come together to create an unparalleled experience, the refreshed hotel embodies the spirit of the Australian landscape (with much of the natural colour palette and locally sourced materials) with an inimitable French Zest.
Throughout the public spaces, striking lighting features illuminate vibrant pockets of space for guests to enjoy. Also known as the ‘Hotel of the Arts’, the hotel frequently hosts art exhibitions through its partnerships with cultural organisations such as the Art Gallery of New South Wales, Opera Australia and the Australian World Orchestra.
Luxury and intimacy
All rooms and suites come equipped with high-end fittings, including MySmart lighting to create the perfect ambiance and the whole Sofitel MyBed™ experience - a box spring, mattress, topper, comforter, an extensive selection of pillows and a heartfelt turndown service, developed with the utmost care to deliver unmatched comfort and the sensation of being cradled in clouds. The epitome of comfort that has made the brand famous worldwide.
The most exclusive accommodation, the Wentworth Suite, which was once graced by Princess Diana, will be unveiled at a later date. Other dignitaries, movie stars and celebrities that have graced the doors of the Sofitel Sydney Wentworth are astronaut Neil Armstrong, Hollywood royalty Audrey Hepburn, and British royalty Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, to name a few.
Fine Dining and Trendy Bars
Pivotal to the hotel’s transformation is its partnership with prominent Sydney hospitality group, House Made Hospitality, who have created an exceptional multi-venue drinking and dining precinct within the luxury hotel. The four bars and restaurants each offer a unique experience for guests within the refined surrounds of the Sofitel Sydney Wentworth:
Sofitel Club Millésime
