Riverside Luxury Cruises has opened reservations for its 2028 river cruise season, highlighted by the debut of Riverside Mahler, the newest addition to the line’s growing fleet. Set to sail the Rhine, Main and Danube rivers beginning in May, Mahler will join sister ship Riverside Debussy to offer more choices for guests looking to explore Europe by river. Riverside Mozart will continue to sail the Upper and Lower Danube, while Riverside Ravel will take guests along the Rhône and Saône rivers in France. Guests who book any 2028 sailing before June 30, 2027 will receive an 18% discount on the sailing price, applicable to all suite categories and package types.
The addition of Riverside Mahler allows the line to increase its sailings through the Main-Danube Canal, connecting the Rhine and Danube, to 12 departures in 2028, compared with four in 2026 and two in 2027. The new ship also gives Riverside additional capacity and flexibility to manage high- and low-water situations, including ship swaps when necessary. New itineraries for 2028 include 10 Budapest–Regensburg sailings and 10 Regensburg–Budapest sailings, along with two Dutch Waterways itineraries and three Lower Danube departures.
In keeping with Riverside’s commitment to flexibility and variety, the upcoming program features sailings from early spring through the end of December on routes ranging from short three-night getaways to extended 23-night journeys. The line has also added select expert-led theme cruises to the 2028 sailing schedule focusing on active pursuits and local celebrations, with more to come.
“The 2028 season gives travelers more ways to experience Europe by river, with Riverside Mahler joining Mozart, Debussy and Ravel,” said Jennifer Halboth, CEO, Riverside Luxury Cruises Americas. “The additional ship means we can offer more departures on some of our most popular itineraries, while new routes and expanded sailings on the Lower Danube and Dutch Waterways give guests even more choice. It’s a season that gives travelers more ways to experience Europe, whether they’re returning to a favorite destination or discovering somewhere new.”
Riverside Debussy will begin the 2028 season in March with its popular spring tulip sailings through the Netherlands and Belgium, followed by a sojourn into the Lower Danube. In early summer, Debussy will introduce new 9- and 10-night itineraries between Amsterdam and Basel incorporating the Moselle River, offering an extended journey through the Rhine and its tributaries. Through the summer and fall, Debussy will continue to explore the Rhine and its waterways, with classic Amsterdam–Basel sailings, Dutch Waterways itineraries and additional journeys into the Danube, before concluding the season with Christmas market sailings on the Rhine.
Riverside Mahler, making its debut in May 2028, will join sister ship Riverside Debussy in an expanded program connecting the Danube and Rhine. The ship will spend the summer sailing between the two rivers, with itineraries linking destinations in Germany, Austria and Hungary with Amsterdam and Basel. In September, Mahler will sail the Lower Danube before returning to the Rhine in October and will conclude its inaugural season with Christmas sailings on the Danube.
Riverside Mozart will continue to offer sailings along the Upper and Lower Danube, with the addition of a new, seven-night Vienna-to-Budapest itinerary that includes the Wachau Valley. The line has also added a new Hungarian port to Mozart’s schedule: Győr, a charming Baroque city where elegant squares, colorful historic buildings and a striking basilica fill the walkable Old Town. 2028 themed sailings onboard Mozart include three Riverside Active cycling sailings in July and August, Darlings of the Danube golf cruises and the Hungary National Day Celebration in August.
Riverside Ravel continues to offer its signature Rhône and Saône itineraries in 2028, exploring the food, wine, history and landscapes of southern France. Guests can discover destinations including Lyon, Avignon, Arles, Viviers and Tain-l’Hermitage, with itineraries featuring highlights such as Châteauneuf-du-Pape, the Pont du Gard and the Rhône Delta.
