Rome Cavalieri, A Waldorf Astoria Hotel Unveils Artistic Cocktail Menu Inspired By Renowned Art Masterpieces

Rome Cavalieri, A Waldorf Astoria Hotel introduces a new way for guests to interact with the hotel’s passion for art, inviting guests to discover bespoke art-inspired cocktails at its lobby Tiepolo Lounge & Terrace. Taking inspiration from the property’s museum-worthy private collection of paintings by historic and contemporary masters, French period furniture, rare tapestries, exquisite sculptures and other artifacts, head bartender and cocktail curator Angelo Severini introduces a new menu of specially developed cocktails that marry up with specific artworks displayed in the hotel.

Aptly named “The Art Collection” and guided by the theme of “artistic inspiration in a glass,” these cocktails utilize thoughtfully selected ingredients and flavor profiles to illustrate a sensory story for guests. One signature drink is The Tiepolo, which pays homage to the famous Venetian painter Giovanni Battista Tiepolo, whose masterpiece triptych painting commands one of the walls of its namesake lounge. Angelo and his team marry TXLII Sartorial Gin with pink grapefruit, wildflower honey, and a hint of rosemary, offering an unexpected yet harmonious fusion.

Just steps away hangs the painting Judith by Francesco Cairo, which serves as the inspiration for the non-alcoholic Judith 0%. A vibrant and refreshing mix of mango juice, pineapple juice, passion fruit syrup, and ginger ale, the drink embodies the boldness and vitality of the painting while providing an invigorating experience without alcohol.

Fans of Andy Warhol can sip A… Dollar, which brings the spirit of Pop Art to life, drawing on the artist’s iconic Dollar Sign works, four of which hang in the master bedroom of the Penthouse Suite. This playful cocktail is made with Absolut Andy Warhol Edition Vodka, lemon, egg white, vanilla liqueur, and a dash of orange Angostura bitters.

Another notable creation, The Nureyev, pays tribute to the world of ballet and the preeminent male dancer of his generation, Rudolf Nureyev. Combining Williams Pear Brandy, Penja white pepper cordial and coconut, the cocktail captures the elegance and grace of the celebrated dancer, whose bejeweled costumes hang on display in the Imperial Club Lounge.

As the Roman sunset bathes the city in golden hues, the Tiepolo Lounge & Terrace provides the perfect backdrop for an authentic Italian aperitivo experience. Angelo’s thoughtfully curated cocktail and spirits menu is paired with culinary creations by Executive Chef Nicholas Cuomo. For example, The Tiepolo complements the hotel’s signature Cavalieri Club Sandwich, while the vibrant A… Dollar pairs beautifully with a Lobster Roll and The Nureyev effortlessly “dances” alongside Chef’s Beef Tartare.

“The Art Collection” menu is currently being served at Tiepolo Lounge & Terrace. For more information about Rome Cavalieri, A Waldorf Astoria Hotel, and to book a reservation, please visit www.romecavalieri.com.
