Rosewood Le Guanahani Announces Participation in St. Barth’s Gourmet Festival this November

Rosewood Le Guanahani St. Barth, the legendary island escape on Saint Barthélemy, has announced participation in the 9th annual St. Barth Gourmet Festival, from November 8th - 13th, 2022. Hosted by the Territorial Tourism Committee of Saint Barthélemy, the event has evolved over the past nine years to become a major player in the international culinary landscape and is now one of the most notable culinary festivals in the Caribbean and beyond. For this year’s programing, the committee is inviting 11of France’s most prominent chefs to participate alongside St. Barth’s best chefs to create memorable culinary experiences and to judge several contests held during the feast, including the “Garçons de Café Race”, the “St. Barth’s Chef Challenge” and “The Petite Toques Competition.”

The Gourmet Festival’s opening ceremony will be held at Rosewood Le Guanahani St. Barth, beginning at 6:30 PM on November 8th.  “We are very excited to participate in the Gourmet Festival and honored to host the official kick-off celebration,” said Martein van Wagenberg, Managing Director of Rosewood Le Guanahani St. Barth. “It is such a special time for the island’s immense talent to unite with world-renowned chefs and global culinary enthusiasts.” The resort is thrilled to welcome Chef Gérald Passédat as guest Chef, who will work alongside Rosewood Le Guanahani St. Barth’s recently appointed Executive Chef Cedrik Ollivault, to develop unique and memorable tasting opportunities.  Chef Passédat hails from Marseille where he owns three Michelin starred restaurant Le Petit Nice, which has been in his family for multiple generations. The menu at Le Petit Nice is known for its innovative rotating selection of Mediterranean fish, with some 75 varieties offered year round, along with a bounty of vegetables and herbs sourced from Provence.

Executive Chef Cedrik Ollivault of Rosewood Le Guanahani St. Barth, who is responsible for overseeing the menus and staff of the resort’s signature dining venue, Beach House St. Barth, will work parallel to Chef Passédat during the festivities to highlight the property’s authentic French culinary approach. “I look forward to developing one-of-a-kind creations for our guests and visitors alongside Chef Passédat during this exciting activation,” says Chef Ollivault.  Also from France, Chef Ollivault brings his heritage and techniques to the kitchen with an authentic style of cooking that lets the food’s true flavors shine through.  “My passion for cooking, island life and stunning natural environments led me to join Rosewood Le Guanahani St. Barth,” adds Chef Ollivault.  Prior to joining the team, Chef Ollivault worked at One and Only The Palm in Dubai, The Brando in French Polynesia, Disney cruise’s prestigious Remy restaurant by Chef Arnaud Lallement and Hotel Bora Bora Lagoon Resort & Spa.

Other Gourmet Festival participating chefs include Christopher Coutanceau, Jean-Georges Vongerichten, Alan Geaam, Fanny Rey, Tom Meyer, Mohamed Cheikh, Juan Arbalaez, Cédric Grolet and Georgiana Viou.
