If you don't want to travel far in your finery, and would like to use this as the perfect excuse for a short break in a splendidly luxurious hotel, The Milestone has to be firm favorite – especially now that they've introduced this highly unusual package: Horses, Hats and High Society.

As you well know, one simply cannot be seen at any of these social occasions without a hat to turn heads. The hotel has therefore appointed Louis Mariette as their Milliner in Residence – which means that guests who take advantage of this package will be treated to a consultation with Louis. You can choose creations from his ready-to-wear range but he'll also take a commission for a bespoke hat if you want something truly unique.

Louis's clientele includes Jerry Hall, Joan Collins, Kate Moss, Lady Gaga, Alek Wek, Jodie Kidd, Isabell Kristensen, Sophie Dahl, Dannii Minogue, and Paris Hilton – so you'll be in good company.

Once you have your wonderful ladies hats, you need to travel in complete comfort and style to the races or the polo so the hotel will provide a chauffeur-driven Bentley to take you there and back.

The night before the big day, and the night after, you'll stay in one of the hotel's luxury rooms, with a bottle of Joseph Perrier Champagne in your room and a full English breakfast on both mornings.

• Royal Ascot package from $1,850* per night - Tuesday, June 19 through Saturday, June 23
