The Harrison Family announces the reopening of the Rusty Parrot Lodge & Spa, officially marking its much anticipated return to its longtime location just steps away from the historic town square in Jackson, Wyoming. While the hotel underwent a ground-up transformation inclusive of 40 guest rooms, a state-of-the-art spa, full service restaurant and bar, multiple outdoor spaces, underground valet parking lot, and more, it has remained true to its roots by incorporating favorites from the original property, ranging from the local art and sculptures to the classic bedside cowboy lamps and the beloved stuffed bear turndown - all to ensure this family-owned and operated hotel still feels like home. With the same hospitality it first brought to Jackson 30 years ago, the Rusty Parrot is ready to welcome travelers seeking to visit ‘the last of the Old West’ in 2024.
Rooms with a View
The newly expanded rooms include two Suites, 22 King Fireplace rooms, 11 Double Queen rooms, and five King rooms. Many of the accommodations feature deep soaking tubs, gas fireplaces and personal balconies with views of Snow King Mountain or Flat Creek, while each is outfitted with custom furniture, local artwork, luxury finishes designed to patina over time, sensor lighting, pull-out fridges, plush Italian bedding, and spa-quality bathrooms stocked with Amouage products. Designed by WRJ, a local Jackson firm, the guest rooms are as cozy as they are sophisticated, combining soft flannel curtains and fur pillows with leather accents and Western charm.
The Wild Sage Restaurant and Bar
Upon entering the new hotel, guests will be immediately greeted by a view of the bustling Wild Sage Restaurant and its open kitchen, complete with a wood fire pizza oven and a two-sided stone fireplace flanked by floor-to-ceiling glass wine cellars. Open daily to the public for breakfast and dinner, the restaurant offers 48 seats, not including 14 at the intimate bar and three-season outdoor seating for 12. Curated by Chef Hugo Goodwin using locally sourced ingredients, the menu at the Wild Sage will change seasonally, but guests can expect dishes that range from locally sourced Beef Tartare made with chili oil, lovage and balsamic, and pan roasted Long Island Duck drizzled in jus to Smoked Crème Brulé served with a side of local whiskey. Rotating flatbreads, vegetable-forward dishes, game meats and a classic burger will also be offered, alongside an ever growing and changing high quality selection of global wines, including old world and new, specialty craft cocktails and local beers. The breakfast menu includes Ricotta Pancakes with lemon curd and maple butter, as well as heartier fare like Snake River Rancheros with house-made roasted green chili sauce and pickled red onions. Lighter offerings include the Shumway Parfait made with local yogurt, fruit, almond butter, and house granola.
The Body Sage Spa
The beloved Body Sage Spa, returning to its home inside the Rusty Parrot in a gorgeous new setting, invites guests to indulge in a transformative journey designed to nourish the spirit, quiet the mind and delight the senses. The two-floor space offers six treatment rooms, a terrace for classes and relaxation, and a couple’s suite including a fireplace and a freestanding tub for bathing rituals. The Body Sage offers a range of services from restorative massages for post-adventure aches to facials designed to soothe parched skin as well as transformative experiences that help integrate body and soul.
Spa menu highlights include the Next Level Après, a recovery treatment involving stretching and warm herbal compresses along with a targeted massage; Nature’s Nutrients, which includes a CBD-infused herbal sugar scrub, and a salt soak bathing ritual plus a full body massage; and Jackson’s first and only Glo2Facial, which taps advanced technology to stimulate oxygen production to regenerate and rejuvenate cellular growth through exfoliation, lymphatic drainage, and skin firming. Guests of the Body Sage will be pampered with a curated selection of local and global luxury spa brands like ESSE Skincare, Alpyn Beauty, Voya, and Phia Lab and by practitioners who are experts in their craft.
Outdoor Spaces & Amenities
Surrounded by 360-degree views, the Rusty Parrot has plenty of new outdoor places for guests to gather and soak in the mountainous splendor while watching for wandering wildlife or socialize with a craft cocktail under the stars. A heated rooftop deck, called the Perch, is an ideal après adventure hangout, complete with an oversized, outdoor fireplace and lounge seating situated under the stars, while an expansive outdoor courtyard features a 12-person hot tub alongside a fire pit perfect for roasting s’mores and toasting the day. A second deck, overlooking Saddle Butte and Flat Creek, was designed for spotting local fauna. Complimentary binoculars will be available for guests hoping to spot deer, elk or moose.
Continuing an old tradition, the Rusty Parrot will continue to serve up fresh-baked cookies daily - perhaps best enjoyed paired with a good book and a cup of coffee in the Lodge’s library. Complimentary cruisers and electric bicycles await those looking to take a spin around Jackson’s iconic town square or along the extensive bike path system which runs from right outside the hotel to the National Museum of Wildlife Art and on to Jenny Lake in Grand Teton National Park. Other provided amenities include pickleball paddles for a game across the street at Miller Park’s court, bear spray for those looking to hit the trails, and a complimentary shuttle to Jackson Hole Mountain Resort during ski season.
