Safari and Sand from Kenya to the Seychelles

Safari and Sand from Kenya to the Seychelles
From spotting the big five in Kenya, to Nairobi's most iconic hotel, and an Indian Ocean haven in the Seychelles – guests will experience the very best of these magical destinations.

The journey begins at the Fairmont Mara Safari Club, set on an ox-bow of the hippo-filled Mara River, in luxury tents, with four-poster beds and wide verandas. Arriving from Nairobi by plane, the expanse of the Masai Mara becomes clear and is a tiny taste of things to come in one of the world's richest wildlife reserves.

Guests head out into the bush on early morning and afternoon game drives, in search of the Big Five, including the African lion, African elephant, Cape buffalo, African leopard, and white/black rhinoceros; as well as zebra, wildebeest and gazelles galore. Among other experiences, guests can enjoy dinner in the bush around a roaring fire and visit a local Masai village, witnessing the mesmerizing hum of traditional Masai songs and the ‘Adumu' – the iconic jumping dance, synonymous with Kenya.

Jumping from the bush to the buzz of Nairobi and Fairmont The Norfolk Hotel, guests will then experience the most iconic hotel in the city, with its own private tropical gardens located at the heart of Kenya's colorful history. Guests are encouraged to sip cocktails at sundown on the Lord Delamere Terrace, before enjoying the best steak in the city at the ultra-modern Tatu restaurant, a perfect contrast to the hotel's Victorian architecture.

Finally, guests will then hop across the Indian Ocean to spot the Seychelles archipelago appearing from the blue. Checking-in to Raffles Praslin, Seychelles, a private villa will be enjoyed with its own plunge pool, sweeping views over the sea, and a Raffles Butler on hand 24/7. A variety of activities is available to enjoy, including snorkeling in turquoise waters at the beach; stand-up paddle boarding; taking a trip to La Digue island; visiting the giant tortoises and Anse Source d'Argent; and visiting the UNESCO World Heritage Site of the Vallée de Mai, home to the endemic Coco de Mer.

The Raffles Spa - the largest spa in the Seychelles – is also available for guests' pleasure, with outdoor treatment rooms for complete relaxation to the sound of the sea before ending the day in style, with a sunset Champagne cruise, cocktails at Pti Zil Beach Bar, or supper under the stars.

This is a true adventure from start to finish, full of memories, from the great plains of Africa…to the paradise setting of the Seychelles.
