Sand Sculptor Extraordinaire Returns to Cap Juluca, Anguilla
In previous visits to the resort, he's created a huge structure with a giant turtle and the Cap Juluca logo and an immense labyrinthine sand castle with the logo. On Sunday, March 26, Sandman Matt will hold a clinic for guests to teach them a few tricks of his trade, and guests of all ages can then build original showpieces of their own to compete in the Cap Juluca Sandcastle Competition.

Professional sand sculptor Long travels globally to great beaches creating themed sand masterpieces for pure enjoyment and admiration. His competition-winning work is fun and whimsical and has been appreciated throughout the United States. He was a cast member for two seasons on the television show “Sand Masters,” which originally aired on the Travel Channel in the U.S. and is now seen on TLC around the world.

Friday, March 24, Building Starts with a Meet and Greet Welcome Reception

Sandman Matt begins shaping a sand pile on the dazzling white sand of Maundays Beach along the blue Caribbean coastline with the resort's Moorish-inspired architecture in the background. There will be a Cap Juluca welcome reception at 6 p.m. for guests staying at the resort to meet the master sand sculptor.
Saturday, March 25, The Unveiling of the Masterpiece
Long will unveil his completed Cap Juluca sandcastle masterpiece near the resort's Main House by 5 p.m.

Sunday, March 26, 10:30 a.m., Sandcastle Building Clinic

Sandman Matt will conduct a two-hour sandcastle building clinic where guests will learn the rudiments of sand sculpting, including the process crucial to success, what tools are best for sculpting, how to approach a sculpture idea and what it takes to create a fun and attention-grabbing sculpture.

Sunday, March 26, 3 to 4:30 p.m., Sandcastle Contest

Guests are challenged to put their ideas, artistic talents and sand-sculpting skills to the test during a competition, while the visiting expert will be on Maundays Beach to help contestants with their entries. Judges, including Sandman Matt, will select the Cap Juluca Sandcastle Competition winners. Prizes to be awarded.
