Seattle's Iconic Edgewater Hotel Partners with Orangewood Guitars

As of September 12, 2022, guests of The Edgewater (a Noble House Hotels & Resorts property) will enjoy a new, music-minded amenity: a collection of more than two dozen, handcrafted acoustic guitars from modern maker, Orangewood Guitars. Dedicated to building beautifully crafted instruments for a new generation of music enthusiasts, the boutique company blends modern design with timeless guitar shapes and embraces inclusivity by providing high-quality pieces at a range of price points. Journalists for The New York Times, Wired, She Shreds, Men’s Health, and more have all praised the brand.

The  hotel’s collection includes the Brooklyn, Oliver Mahogany, and Austin models, among others, with all available for guests to borrow, complimentary for up to two hours, during their stay. Extra amenities, such as a “How to” for beginner chords and sheet music for the more advanced, are available.

“Music is in The Edgewater’s roots,” says General Manager Ian McClendon. “From the early sixties, when we were the first (and only) Seattle hotel to welcome the Beatles during their first global tour, opening our door to the creative industry has been a part of who we are. As we continue to be a destination for contemporary musicians today, it’s important to us that we stay true to those roots by building unique amenities that speak to and serve this community. Partnering with Orangewood was a natural fit for us.”

To offer an inside look at its storied music history, The Edgewater commissioned a short documentary feature, live now on the Noble House Hotels & Resorts’ YouTube page. Special guests, including Jonathan Poneman, co-founder of Sub Pop Records, and Seattle Mayor Bruce Harrell, speak to the hotel’s grand rock and roll past and iconic place within Seattle culture.
