Seattle’s Legendary Edgewater Hotel Partners with Victrola

Guests of The Edgewater (a Noble House Hotels & Resorts property) will enjoy a new selection of music-centric amenities, as part of the iconic hotel’s recent collaboration with Victrola, the leading vinyl record player manufacturer of turntables and music-related products for more than 115 years. Continuing the hotel’s commitment to bringing guest-inspired amenities that help them connect with the Pacific Northwest’s rich music culture, this partnership brings together leaders in the audio industry and beloved local music brands for an exclusive vinyl listening experience.

Expanded audio amenities available at the hotel include:

  • Victrola Re-Spin Eco-Friendly Suitcase Record Players – guests may check out (at no charge) a Re-Spin for in-room use. Reimagined for today’s vinyl fans, these record players are made from 25% recycled plastic and feature three-way technology that allows users to play vinyl, stream from a smart device, or stream records to any external Bluetooth speaker with Victrola’s Vinyl Stream™ technology. Records are also available for in-room use (for guests checking out a Re-Spin).
  • Easy Street Pop-Up Vinyl Shop– nestled within The Brim, the hotel’s coffee and gift shop, this intimate pop-up record shop allows guests to play vinyl selections from a rotating collection of over 300  records—curated by Easy Street Records’ Owner and President, Matt Vaughan. Records will be spun on a Victrola Premiere T1 Turntable System with  M1 Bookshelf Monitors, a perfect blend of premium sound quality and elegant design to offer a great listening experience in any setting.
  • The “Victrola Sound Cart” – featuring a Victrola player outfitted on a rolling service cart, this moving music amenity will be available on advance request as a “surprise and delight” experience to enhance meetings, private parties, or to enjoy at special events.

Through these unique partnerships, Victrola is identifying creative avenues to provide its innovative products to new and experienced vinyl listeners, helping make music memories even when travelers are away from home. The elevated, immersive listening experiences allow hotel guests to be fully entrenched in the local music culture Seattle is known for.

The independent record store, Easy Street Records, opened in West Seattle in 1988. In addition to carrying new and used CDs, vinyl records, magazines, and more, the shop also features a popular café and bar. Owner and President Matt Vaughan worked at two different record stores as a teenager, and when both stores were facing closure in 1987, he launched a plan to combine the two into one, and from there Easy Street Records was born. The store is famed for its live music performances that have welcomed legendary talent including Lou Reed, Elvis Costello, Patti Smith, Lana Del Rey, Steve Earle, The Shins, Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, The Head & the Heart, and many more.

The Edgewater has been celebrated for decades—and to this day—as the destination of choice for both local and visiting music legends (it’s home to the famed photograph of The Beatles fishing from their hotel window; boasts an exterior mural designed by the artist Wyland with the help of Pearl Jam’s Eddie Vedder; and more). For an inside look at The Edgewater’s storied music history, visit Noble House Hotels & Resorts’ YouTube page for a special short documentary feature. Documentary guests include Jonathan Poneman, co-founder of Sub Pop Records, and Seattle Mayor Bruce Harrell, speaking to the hotel’s grand rock and roll past and iconic place within Seattle culture.
