Secret Bay Resort & Residences, the Two Michelin Key, all-villa Relais & Châteaux property located on Dominica, the Nature Island of the Caribbean, today marked its 15th anniversary with a first look at its final enclave and newest residences, the Cliffside Villas, alongside plans for two new spas and a family pool pavilion. Once complete, the six new Cliffside Villas will crystallize Secret Bay's vision, a boutique collection of 42 villas. Designed by resident architect Claude Lauture, the six new residences are set into the rainforest above Coconut Beach, with expansive views of the Caribbean Sea, and introduce a brand-new design, the Kampesh, alongside the resort's signature Ti-Fèy+.
"When we started fifteen years ago, the idea was to grow slowly and with care," said Gregor Nassief, owner of Secret Bay. "As we assembled the land and grew to 40 acres of rainforest along the coast, we evolved our plans in a way that actually lowered the density. Too often, places grow fast and add more. As we expanded, we gave each villa more space and privacy, while preserving more of the land and its natural surroundings. For me, that has always been what matters most, the luxury of time and space and the preservation of nature."
Set into the last of the enclaves to be realized, the Cliffside Villas join Secret Bay's Peninsula, Clifftop, Hillside, Summit, and Waterfront enclaves, commanding panoramic views over the rainforest canopy to the Caribbean Sea, overlooking Cabrits National Park and the Morne Aux Diables volcanic formation and stretching as far as Guadeloupe and Les Saintes. A short walk from Coconut Beach, each villa blends into the jungle landscape while delivering refined comfort and understated luxury. Built from sustainable Guyanese Greenheart hardwood, with soft fixtures, linens, and interior furniture handcrafted from Dominican Red Cedar by local artisans, the villas carry a natural palette drawn from the island's culture and landscapes. Private plunge pools, outdoor rain showers cantilevered off the top floor, and sweeping outdoor living spaces give guests a sense of seclusion throughout their stay.
The enclave offers two three-story designs. The Ti-Fèy+ villas span 2,649 square feet and feature two bedrooms and three bathrooms, sleeping four to six guests. The new Kampesh design brings a treehouse-style layout of 3,618 square feet, with three bedrooms and three bathrooms, sleeping six to ten. Both open through walls of glass to the gourmet chef's kitchen, the jungle-steeped bedrooms, and the sea beyond, and come fully appointed with Siemens kitchen appliances, a De'Longhi Eletta espresso maker, a CDA wine fridge, a Culligan water filtration system, a Sonos wireless sound system, high-speed WiFi, and smart home technology.
Alongside the villas, Secret Bay will add two new spas over the coming year. The first extends the treetop, three-walled setting of the resort's existing Gommier Spa. The second introduces a wellness concept unlike anything in the Caribbean, an experience built around a slower, analog way of being, with details to be revealed closer to opening.
Expanding on the resort's existing infinity lap pool, a new family pool pavilion is also planned near Coconut Beach at the resort's northern end. Designed for families, the pavilion pairs separate areas for children and adults with a solar-powered oceanfront pool, a bar, a restaurant, and an open kitchen.
The new spaces join an experience already anchored by dining, wellness, and nature. At Zing Zing, the resort's acclaimed open-air restaurant, Chef Allison Lo seats just 20 guests for a six-course Discovery Menu with three handcrafted cocktails, an optional wine flight, and access to the Grand Cave, the largest wine collection in Dominica. Dining and culture also converge at Bwa Denn, a two-level destination that houses the all-day Bwa Denn Kitchen, the rooftop Bwa Denn Terrazza, a microbrewery with housemade kombucha, and one of the largest private collections of contemporary Caribbean and Latin American artwork. Along the Cario River, the Botanica organic garden and chef's table offers a garden-to-fork experience built around what the property grows and forages. Guests can spend their days across three secluded swimmable beaches, a saltwater infinity lap pool with beach bar and cabanas, a wellness spa and fitness center, a riverside yoga and meditation pavilion, and a beachfront watersports hut, with a dedicated villa host and concierge attending to every stay. The resort is also home to the Caribbean's longest funicular, which transports guests 300 feet up the hillside through the rainforest.
Over the past 15 years, many guests have formed lasting connections to Dominica and Secret Bay, and many have chosen to become owners. Each villa at Secret Bay is available for private ownership, offered as whole or fractional residences that give owners a home of their own within the resort. Sales for the Cliffside Villas launch this fall, led by Sotheby's International Realty, with whole ownership priced from USD $2.95 million. Ownership also opens a path to Dominican citizenship through the country's Citizenship by Investment program, ranked by the Financial Times as one of the world's best for second citizenship.
