Shakti Himalaya Launches New Soul-Soothing Wellness Experiences 2025

Shakti Himalaya has announced new ‘Soul Soother’ wellness journeys, drawing on the wealth of ancient wellness traditions that are deep-rooted in Ladakhi culture. From visits to the traditional healer (amchi) and a local oracle, alongside physical exercise and meditation, these are in-depth explorations into the mountain community wellness culture, that provide rejuvenation in remote surroundings, far removed from the clutter and noise of the modern world.

As time-poor travellers look harder and harder for ways to step out of the rat race, Shakti Ladakh is the perfect place for guests to pause and take a closer look at their holistic wellbeing. At 3,500 metres above sea level, this high altitude desert, dominated by snow-capped mountains, is wellness far beyond the four walls of a spa; revisiting ageless, time-tested healing techniques to recalibrate the mind, body and spirit.

The Shakti Soul Soother experience gives guests access to traditional healers, named Amchi, practitioners of one of the oldest surviving medical traditions of the world. This system is still highly active in Ladakh and plays a major part in the mountain community health care system. Healers will ‘take the pulses’ to feel the blood and energy flow before making recommendations for diet, behaviour and physical therapy adaptations. A visit to the local Oracle is another fascinating insight into Ladakhi culture providing counsel, with guiding and healing.

These typically Ladakhi encounters are enhanced with daily meditation and yoga sessions, visits to monasteries to learn more about the Buddhist meditative mantra practice, and plenty of time outdoors taking physical exercise from daily hikes, white water rafting and cycling, which gives guests plenty of time to marvel at the landscapes of the Ladakh plateau, enjoying the feeling of perspective that this journey offers.

After a delicious, healthy Indian dinner cooked by guests’ private chef, Shakti Himalaya will arrange evening experiences with an astronomer to search the night skies, digging deeper into humans’ place in the solar system and enjoying a dark sky moment without the interference of light pollution under these vast skies.

Throughout the Shakti Ladakh journey, guests will stay in Shakti Village Houses, beautifully designed to be deeply comfortable and totally authentic to their surroundings. Days are led by village walks, accompanied by expert guides to give travellers unfettered access to this extraordinary way of life, ensuring they have a full understanding of the culture of Ladakh, its people, religion and customs.

Shakti Ladakh Village Experience runs between May and September and while itineraries are tailored, a minimum of seven nights on the circuit is suggested. Priced from USD 7,175/person (based on 2 persons travelling), the seven night packages include accommodations, all meals, beverages, activities, guides and porters and local airport transfers. A shorter five nights journey is also available.
