During the Christmas season, Coburg develops a unique magic and is among the most atmospheric in the Franconia region of north Bavaria. This is not only because of the picturesque setting and the beautiful lights, but also because of the many special activities taking place in the city during the holiday season. Regensburg is a 2,000 year old city where the brilliance of Christmas lights spreads through the narrow streets and reaches up to the gables of former patrician mansions and ancient tower houses. A very special atmosphere fills the UNESCO World Heritage city, which has four Christmas markets to choose from. For centuries, the traditional Christmas Market has attracted local residents and their guests to Neupfarrplatz (center market square).

During Advent 2010, an impressive Christmas Market will again take place in front of the beautiful St. Stephan Cathedral in the old town center of Passau. About 67 stalls will display and sell special Christmas goods, presents, arts and crafts. Christmas specialities like Lebkuchen (gingerbread) and Glühwein (mulled wine) tempt visitors with enticing aromas. Every day different concerts and choir performances will take place on stage.
