Skincare Tips from Mandarin Oriental, Las Vegas Spa Director Jennifer Lynn
Battling the elements doesn't have to mean your skin suffers, though. Now that winter is coming to a close, and summer is quickly approaching, Mandarin Oriental, Las Vegas' Spa Director Jennifer Lynn provides some expert tips on combatting the winter skin blues as well as ways to protect the skin from the hot summer sun.

Jennifer's Tips for Revitalizing Worn Out Winter Skin:

  • Upkeep – Regular deep cleansing facials are essential for removing topical dryness and bringing moisture to the skin, which is necessary after our skin has been exposed to months of cold, harsh weather. In between professional facials, apply a facial mask before entering the steam room or a hot steamy shower at home for a beautiful pick me up.

  • DYI – For a natural do-it-yourself exfoliation, mix some table sugar with a splash of whisky or rum, just enough to make a paste. Use this sugar based scrub on the driest parts of your body – elbows, knees, heels and even legs or arms. The sugar is a natural glycolic exfoliate and leaves a healthy glow.

  • Visiting the spa – Mandarin Oriental, Las Vegas' Time Reversal Facial shows immediate results for the tone and texture of the skin of the face. The formula of engineered vitamins packed into the cleanser, mask and moisturizer rids the skin of unwanted topical cells leaving room for a fresh appearance for a fresh new season.

Jennifer's Tips for Perfect Summer Skin:

  • Upkeep – Use a dry cactus brush for exfoliating the skin daily. The light strokes before a shower also help to stimulate the lymphatic system. After each shower, use a body oil to seal in the moisture from your shower.

  • Expert tip – Don't forget your lips! Always use an SPF for your lips in the summer. The sun can burn and dehydrate causing a wrinkled looking lip. Lip liners and lipstick look best on plump, nourished lips.

  • Visiting the spa – Mandarin Oriental, Las Vegas' Ocean and Earth Body Wrap uses a choice of marine mud, algae or oshadi clay to help eliminate toxins and increase the absorption of the hydrating oils. The summer can be challenging to the skin on your body, hands and feet. A body wrap uses the exfoliation to remove unnecessary cells and open the skin to receive the powerfully moisturizing essential oils.
