Small Luxury Hotels of the World welcomes five new member hotels this month, including the newly opened VALA Hua Hin in Thailand and Koh Russey Villas & Resort on Bamboo Island, Cambodia, which opens in December. In Europe, swim under chandeliers at a chateau in Chantilly or discover history in a 16th century manor house in Normandy. For something completely different head to Mexico to embark on an adventure in the Copper Canyons of Chihuahua.

Located a three-minute drive, or a scenic hike, from the Copper Canyon Adventure Park, Hotel Mirador sits on the highest point of the canyon like an eagle’s nest – in fact it’s the only hotel in the Copper Canyons of Chihuahua to have a panoramic view from the private terrace of every room. The hotel is surrounded by pine trees and its unique architecture and décor pay tribute to traditional Mexican style.
