Sofitel Paris Arc de Triomphe Makes its Debut
The new Sofitel Paris Arc de Triomphe, just a stone's throw from the Champs-Elysées and the Arc de Triomphe monument, was recently inaugurated in the presence of 800 guests including Robert Gaymer-Jones, Chief Executive Officer of Sofitel Worldwide; Olivia Putman, Studio Putman Artistic Director; Béatrice Schopflin, General Manager of Sofitel Paris Arc de Triomphe; gastronome and restaurateur José Da Rosa from Epicerie Da Rosa; and Rami Mekdachi, who developed the hotel's signature scent with the candle 14.

A Re-Imagined Flagship Hotel for Sofitel

Designed to look like a Parisian pied-à-terre, the Sofitel Paris Arc de Triomphe embodies French sophistication and art de vivre with a beautifully-preserved Haussmanian façade and contemporary interiors. Soft colors, sleek lines and an array of textures welcome guests into an atmosphere inspired by legendary French designer Andrée Putman and the City of Lights.

"The Sofitel Paris Arc de Triomphe is a perfect illustration of Sofitel's brand values: from its luxurious expression of French elegance to the singular interiors imagined by Studio Putman which embrace the brand's core pillars of gastronomy, culture and design," declared Robert Gaymer-Jones, Sofitel CEO. "It is with great pleasure that we unveil Sofitel Paris Arc de Triomphe, which strikes the perfect note of luxury and modernity in the heart of this capital city, also Sofitel's home."

Design, Luxury and Comfort in the Heart of Paris

The very concept of "hotel" has been re-interpreted by Studio Putman for Sofitel Paris Arc de Triomphe. The guestrooms were designed with rest and wellbeing in mind, instilling a sense of peace in the heart of a fast-paced city. From soothing blue tones, contemporary furnishings, and Parisian touches to oversized bathrooms and MyBedTM - Sofitel's exclusive bedding concept featuring an all-feather bed and extra light down duvet-guests are wrapped in an inviting and relaxing environment that combines luxury, design and comfort. This is also reflected in the public spaces, which include the sleek and welcoming lobby, the cozy lounge complete with a fireplace, and the Gallery fluidly connecting the lobby and lounge to the restaurant.

"The Sofitel Paris Arc de Triomphe is the ultimate in Parisian chic. We wanted to create an alternative to the standard palace positioning and create a lifestyle space - a real Parisian pied-à-terre with a boutique hotel dimension," said Béatrice Schopflin, General Manager of the Sofitel Paris Arc de Triomphe. "The hotel's design is about interconnecting spaces and underscoring how these can be used in several different ways. We invite guests to feel at home and adapt the spaces to their needs, whether they seek privacy or company, walls or openness."

A Destination for Parisian Conviviality and Gastronomy

Sofitel Paris Arc de Triomphe is home to L'Initial - a convivial 64-seat restaurant where Head Chef Thomas Bruno fashions modern French cuisine, inspired by fresh and seasonal ingredients sourced from premium local producers, and curates a wine list boasting over 100 grand crus.

The Sofitel Paris Arc de Triomphe's bar, the first that Da Rosa designed for a Paris hotel, promises a unique experience in a venue where two worlds meet. With an intimate atmosphere featuring the deli-café concept established by José Da Rosa, guests can experience classic cocktails and products of outstanding gastronomic terroir from France, Italy, Spain and Portugal. The tearoom, the first created by Da Rosa, features 26 varieties of tea and six iconic French pastries from outstanding Parisian chefs such as Jean-Paul Hévin, Philippe Conticini, Angelina's tea room and Michael Boivin.
