South Africa's Sabi Sabi Opens Luxury Villas at Bush Lodge

The villas feature African Style architecture and décor and are designed with a view to serving as a lavish home in the bush. Each suite contains a massive master bedroom outfitted with a king-sized, draped, four-poster bed and a dressing area furnished with hide-covered chairs and ottomans. Bathrooms are palatial, graced by floor to ceiling glass walls, his and hers vanities, arm chairs and an open “rain shower.” Two enormous side-by-side bathtubs are surrounded by sliding windows opening to the outdoors. An alfresco shower, almost invisible, is tucked away in an indigenous tree.

The second bedroom is outfitted with twin draped beds and cushioned window seating for relaxing and absorbing the great outdoors. This bedroom features another private ensuite bathroom, which includes a bath and rain shower.

The sizeable lounge/library is furnished with chairs and couches upholstered in the calm, muted colors of the bushveld. In this room, as well as throughout the suite, there are myriad details and textures, from raw grass wallpaper and smooth floor finishes to sisal rugs and leadwood sculptures mirroring the natural environment. Chandeliers are handmade from salvaged sticks, branches and twigs, with interspersed twinkling light bulbs.

Both bedrooms and lounge open out onto a huge reed-covered patio, which incorporates a private plunge pool.
