South Florida Heats Up With New Hotel Openings This Winter
More than just adding a Miami location to their already enviable collection of destinations, for many hotel groups, including Joie de Vivre and Nobu Hotels, it will be their first-ever East Coast hotel. For ME by Melia, it will be the brand’s official US debut with ME Miami, located in the heart of Miami’s burgeoning downtown district.

With each hotel opening, major players in food and beverage will also arrive on the scene, including Nobu Restaurant, slated for September 2015 debut, at Eden Roc Resort Miami Beach (pictured at top); Sunny’s, The Hall’s casual eatery by classically trained chef Spike Mendelsohn of Top Chef acclaim; and STK Rebel, a casual version of the traditional steakhouse and the first Miami location, set to debut at ME Miami.

JOIE DE VIVRE’S FIRST EAST COAST HOTEL, THE HALL

Designed by Robert McKinley, The Hall is Joie de Vivre’s first East Coast hotel set to open in fall 2015, offering guests and locals a fun and fresh Bohemian outpost in the heart of South Beach. The 163-room boutique hotel, set on a 1.4-acre playground, will be completely revamped to not only uncover and enhance its 1940s Art Deco history, but also create fun, unexpected places and spaces reflective of Joie de Vivre Hotels’ relaxed California roots. Located at 1500 Collins Avenue, The Hall is nestled between the charming, colorful Española Way and 16th Street, and will feature a lush garden with an oversized swimming pool and poolside cabanas; Sunny’s, a casual courtyard eatery inspired by classic seaside cafes and beach bars from around the world by star chef Spike Mendelsohn of Top Chef acclaim; and Campton Yard, a backyard bar outfitted with tree-hung string lighting, social games and lounge areas.
