The most wonderful time of the year is right around the corner at Brown’s Hotel in London and The Balmoral in Edinburgh. Guests are invited to celebrate the festive season with an exclusive Rocco Forte Hotels’ experience, exploring two of Britain’s most iconic cities. Begin with a magical Christmas in London followed by a traditional Scottish Hogmanay celebration on New Year’s Eve in the enchanting Scottish capital, Edinburgh.
Brown’s Hotel has announced Britain’s first chocolatier, Charbonnel et Walker, as its festive partner. Discover the magic of the hotel upon entering and be greeted by chocolates galore, red ribbons and twinkling fairy lights, all inspired by Charbonnel et Walker. Guests can enjoy a two-night stay and indulge in a box of truffles and a shopping experience in Charbonnel’s original Bond Street shop.
Enjoy a wintery walk through one of London’s renowned markets such as Covent Garden, Trafalgar Square, Leicester Square and Winter Wonderland, where Christmas themed gifts can be found. After a day filled with Christmas magic, indulge in a much loved British pastime: Afternoon Tea. At Brown’s the festive Afternoon Tea menu has been carefully curated to satisfy all taste buds, with a hint of chocolate.
Once Christmas has concluded, guests can board onto a train to Edinburgh where they can relax in a first class carriage and admire the beautiful scenic views. The train ride takes approximately four and half hours arriving at the city’s most iconic hotel, The Balmoral. Before departing from London, Brown’s will provide a gorgeous flask filled with The Macallan whisky alongside a selection of artisan delicacies to sample before reaching Scotland.
On arrival at Waverley Station in Edinburgh, guests can make the short commute, approximately 30 seconds, to The Balmoral Hotel. Edinburgh is renowned for being the most mesmerising place to celebrate New Year’s Eve, or as the locals like to call it Hogmanay. Bring in the New Year in true Balmoral style with a two-night stay waking up each day to the aroma of the finest coffee and a delicious breakfast of favourites such as Balmoral cured smoked salmon and scrambled eggs, served at Brasserie Prince or enjoyed in the comfort of the room or suite.
The stay includes a lavish black-tie evening on New Year’s Eve, which begins with a reception of free-flowing Champagne and delicious canapés. As the clock counts down to midnight, enjoy lively music, traditional Scottish bagpipes and drums music, entertainment and a five-course dinner, where each course is carefully paired with wines chosen by our Sommelier.
The powerful image of the city from the hotel lit up by the fireworks display at Edinburgh Castle, makes The Balmoral the idyllic spot to bring in the New Year.
