St. Regis Princeville & Limahuli Garden Preserve Give Gift of Green

St. Regis Princeville & Limahuli Garden Preserve Give Gift of Green
Through the exclusive partnership with Limahuli Garden and Preserve, St. Regis Princeville guests, relatives or friends can sponsor the planting of a rare native canopy tree within a forest restoration project for a minimal cost of $100.

The tree will be selected by the Limahuli Garden staff and may include Koai'a, Lama, Papala and Holei. Sponsors will receive a certificate personalized with their honoree's name and a presentation of this thoughtful gift to a loved one or friend can be arranged with a St. Regis Princeville Concierge to mark the meaningful occasion.

This gift will aid in the conservation efforts of the National Tropical Botanical Gardens and their mission to replant endangered Hawaiian flora in the majestic Limahuli Garden and Preserve on Kauai's northern shore. The celebration tree will be planted in the 600 acres of land in the Lower Limahuli Preserve, an area not open to the public and accessed through rugged terrain by foot. Over the past 100 years the Lower Preserve has seen a major decline in the population of native plants, primarily due to the introduction of feral cattle in the late 1800s. Ten years ago, in an effort to restore this area to a more natural state, Limahuli Garden began an aggressive plant restoration project, which garnered national recognition.

The forests in the mountains above Hanalei contain some of the rarest plants and birds on the face of the earth and with the gift of green initiative The St. Regis Princeville Resort also furthers its commitment to protecting the precious biodiversity that exists on Kauai. The resort strives to strengthen the efforts to protect and restore the habitat that houses Kauai's precious biological treasures and is an ardent supporter of the work of Limahuli Garden and Preserve.

With legendary St. Regis services and luxurious amenities The St. Regis Princeville Resort is the quintessential address for life's celebrations. Perched on the cliffs of Kauai's North Shore, The St. Regis Princeville Resort opened in October of 2009 following a multi-million dollar renovation. The resort plays homage to the island's beautiful land and vibrant culture and boasts stunning views of Hanalei Bay and Mt. Makana, luxurious suites and rooms, four distinctive dining venues, the 10,000 square foot Halele'a Spa, The Princeville Makai Golf Club and a spectacular infinity pool among other outstanding amenities.
