The new and exclusive hytte expedition in Venabu, Rondane National Park in Norway is a brand new offering for 2020, and is only available with Undiscovered Mountains.
The adventurous tour features a unique expedition to a traditional Norwegian hytte, which can only be reached by skiing through the mountains. Travelers will stay overnight in the cozy hytte among the majestic Norwegian mountains, keeping warm with the wood-burning stove which will also be used for melting snow for water and cooking dinner.
Hytter are a huge part of Norwegian culture, with one in three Norwegian families owning a hytte and locals spending the holidays visiting each other by ski in their hytter. The small mountain cabins nestled in the Norwegian wilderness, provide Norwegians with a welcome retreat from city life and allow them to unplug and embrace nature.
Travel to and from the rural hytte will utilize skills gained in the earlier portion of the trip, as travelers ski through different conditions, spot wildlife tracks, orienteer and even night ski.
