5 Suites with Breathtaking Views Around the World

Italy’s Most Exquisite Suites with Spectacular Views at The St. Regis Venice

The St. Regis Venice (pictured), a luxury five-star hotel, offers a collection of 39 exquisite suites all featuring striking views of the Grand Canal while uniquely encapsulating the artistic and cultural legacy of Venice.

Drawing inspiration from the Venetian masterpieces of former guest and Impressionist painter Claude Monet, the interiors of the refined accommodations designed by Sagrada display a distinctive colour palette that represents the passage of light throughout the day from dawn to dusk. True artist’s residences, the Monet Suites are infused with poetic spirit. Inspired by the Venetian watercolors of former guest and painter Claude Monet, the interior design of the suites evidences the soft, warm light that has attracted artists to Venice over the centuries.

Focal points in the suite living rooms are a series of contemporary paintings which celebrate Monet’s mastery of capturing the special light of Venice, a bespoke commission to Parisian and resident artist to The St. Regis Venice, Olivier Masmonteil, along with the contemporary interpretation of four priceless artworks by Tintoretto for the hotel’s Grand Salone. For the Suites Olivier Masmonteil followed Monet’s creative footpath in painting the views of the Grand Canal from the hotel in a contemporary language. The resulting series represents a dedicated tribute to Monet; the artworks are conceived to reflect three iconic elements: light, series and colors. Additionally, as part of the hotel’s ongoing partnership with Berengo Studio, the hotel’s Monet Suites showcase three distinctive chandeliers, with Italian artist Andrea Anastasio's "9-5" masterpiece taking center stage, complemented by two exceptional creations from Swedish artist Marie-Louise Ekman. The colorful designs were carefully chosen to match the contemporary residential style of the suites and the stunning views.

The grandest of all Monet Suites, the two-bedroom Presidential Suite occupies the entire waterfront-facing space on the second noble floor of the Badoer Tiepolo palace. Its living spaces lead out to Juliette balconies that present uninterrupted views of the entrance to Venice’s Grand Canal, and perspectives that extend 180 ° from San Giorgio Maggiore Island across to Punta della Dogana and the beautiful Santa Maria della Salute Basilica, and beyond again to the palatial residences that line the opposite bank of the waterway.

Perched atop the hotel’s Barozzi palace, the Santa Maria Suite presents splendid views of Venice from every corner. The suite’s interiors are where modern design meets the freshness of a Venetian garden with delicate pastel tones, enriched by a collection of objets d’art including contemporary glass ornaments by Berengo Studio, sculptures by contemporary Italian artist Massimiliano Pelletti, and artworks by Aurore de la Morinerie and Amelie Hegardt. On the outside, an outdoor bi-level furnished garden terrace – the largest of the suite collection – is equipped with lounge set and a dining table for up to four people. This unique setting is also the preserve for refined social events and weddings, able to host private cocktails for up to 40 attendees, or seated banquets for 30 people.

An Exquisite Escape with Sweeping City Views: The Presidential Suite at The St. Regis San Francisco

The St. Regis San Francisco, a Forbes Five-Star tar hotel renowned for redefining luxury hospitality in San Francisco, features the recently refreshed Presidential Suite conceptualized by Chapi Chapo Design. The exclusive Presidential Suite is an exceptional example of modern luxury in San Francisco. The 3,200-square foot suite features exquisite details, such as a butler's pantry wine cooler and a formal dining room that seats up to 10 people. Elegant white oak bookshelves line the office walls, and the bedroom's three large windows offer panoramic city views.

Chapi Chapo Design imbued the suite with reimagined energy by leveraging new customized furniture, exclusive to the hotel, and thoughtful choices in color palette and materials. The headboard, picoted with rich leather paneling suggestive of a luxury sports car interior, house outlets that power the sophisticated technological upgrades. San Francisco’s iconic hills and valleys are subtly referenced in the wall covering’s soft curves, while California’s glorious panoramas, as captured by landscape photographer Ansel Adams, are visible through layered smoked desk glass.

Honoring the California Gold Rush of 1849 that put San Francisco on the map, a color palette of silver, copper and iron adds an alluring luster to the rooms’ ambience. These subtle references to San Francisco’s history are balanced by distinctive, custom 3D computer graphic applications created by Christo Saba.  The artwork by Saba pays homage to the innovative spirit of San Francisco with subtle visualizations of past luminaries and today’s tech industry giants.

Additionally, guests can relax with a soothing dip in the hotel’s newly unveiled indoor pool boasting stunning views of Downtown. Designed by San Francisco-based TEF Design in collaboration with Italy-based architect Gio Pagani, the space channels the sophistication and nuance of the St. Regis experience while responding to the downtown urban context. Guests will feel transported yet connected to the urban context owing to the city and sky views showcased through clerestory windows encircling the pool area. An oculus at one end of the pool mirrors the signature rounded forms of neighboring SFMOMA, abstractly connecting the pool to its surroundings and deepening the sense of place. The calming enclave features furnishings with soft and sinuous shapes, in addition to soft earth tones and materials that bring nature inside, creating an oasis within the city. Textural elements, such as walls with wood slat cladding and a wood slat ceiling, add dimension to the space while imparting warmth and comfort. With an eclectic seating arrangement and opportunities for gathering and quiet reflection, the lounge area guides your eye to the tranquility of the pool through the oculus and striking views of the city through floor-to-ceiling windows. Images can be found here.

“As the sun sets,” noted Gio Pagani, “warm rays of sunlight filter into the pool area, casting a beautiful play of light that harmonizes with the tranquil waters of the pool.”
