Switzerland: Luxury in the Form of Ski Chalets

Switzerland: Luxury in the Form of Ski Chalets

Lying in the mountainous region of Central Europe, Switzerland holds some of the most magnificent sights and view points in the world. From traditional Swiss style villages to natural landmarks, the country will never disappoint. Aside from its beautiful scenery, the Swiss region also boasts world famous treats, such as their cheese fondue and chocolates, leaving their visitors asking for more. Also famous for their luxury watches, jewellery and designer clothes, Swiss ski resorts are the perfect place for the luxury shopper as well as the adrenaline pumping skier. The Luxury Chalet Company have great knowledge and exquisite chalets through-out Switzerland for those looking for their next luxury retreat.

There’s no doubt about it, Switzerland holds a huge part of its reputation in its luxury ski resorts. Luxury Chalets, Penthouse and million dollar apartments scatter each resort with the most amazing looking buildings ready to catered to your every need. Luxury chalet managers and their staff certainly know how to look after their guests: private helicopter transfer, champagne arrival, 6* fine dining, hot rock massages, elevating hot-tubs, unground swimming pools and balcony cinema areas. They have been known to complete any and all of your requests and this does include organizing a courier to transport you custom made piano ready for a sympathy on your arrival. With luxury resorts like Verbier, Zermatt, Gstaad (and more), it can be a real hard decision on your next Swiss chalet rental.

Verbier – The ultimate Swiss luxury ski resort (this is where the piano was delivered). The mountainside is packed full of luxury chalets perfect for a small family right the way through to 10+ bedroom properties great for a corporate getaway.

The 4 valleys skiing area (Switzerland’s largest) will keep expert skiers occupied for longer than a week’s holiday. Snow conditions are usually perfect during the winter season due to the resort being over 1500m above sea level.

The town is constantly being expanded due to the influx of money from the wealthy clientele. Luxury shops, fine dining restaurants, après ski bars and evening cocktail bars are regularly placed along the main road. There is also an excellent bus service to get you around.

Zermatt – Some argue that Zermatt is the best resort in Switzerland. It’s a tough decision, but it well worth remembering that the World Best Ski Chalet 2017 (Chalet Les Anges) lies at the foot of The Matterhorn with a fine view over the Zermatt village. Zermatt is also the owner of the elevating hot-tub, which, at night gives a view of the village and stars out of this world. Book Les Anges and other Zermatt Luxury Chalets with The Luxury Chalet Company.

The ski area in Zermatt is amazing. Take the lift called the Klein Matterhorn to 3,883 m, where you can look at the four thousand-meter alps and the Matterhorn right in the eye. There are Pistes well maintained for every skill level. The 350 km of piste will also take you over the border into Italy (but don’t worry, there’s no passport control). Snow conditions are always great and there is usually the option to ski during the summer months.

The town is similar to Verbier, with luxury shops, high quality restaurants and fine cocktail bars. Also keep your eyes peeled for a few of the private cocktail bars with cigar lounges. Zermatt is car free so getting around the town is usually by one of the golf car style electro taxis, walking or bus.

Gstaad - famous for its celebrity appearances and summertime cows. The large resort of Gstaad is made up of several smaller villages all interconnected. This resort is more spacious but the huge benefit of this is the amazing, uninterrupted views from your chalet rental balcony.

The ski area Gstaad offers winter enthusiasts three large and several small ski areas. Anyone who wants a glacial feeling can experience it on the Glacier 3000! The resort is pretty snow-sure due to being so high. Like Zermatt, there may also be the option to ski during the summer.

The main town is currently going through a bit of an argument between the millionaires looking to renovate and update and the locals trying to keep the original vibes. Nevertheless the town is still a beautiful place full of wooden buildings, shops and cheese fondue loving restaurants.
