Haute hounds enjoy complimentary hand-made dog biscuits and refreshing libations, thanks to bacon, chicken, cheese, and beef flavored water, while their companions can purchase burgers, brews and wines. The resort is proud to also announce the Second Annual Diamond Ball, a gala evening of inspiration committed to saving lives, to be held on Saturday, November 8, 2014.
This year's proceeds from Yappy Hour and The Diamond Ball will support the Wounded Veterans Initiative of Canine Companions for Independence, and will help offset some of the unique costs associated with Canine Companion's Southwest Region puppy raising program. Canine Companions has had more than 360 volunteer puppy raisers in Orange County and the funds raised through Yappy Hour will be dedicated for puppy training and obedience classes, transportation of puppies to their new puppy raisers, spaying and neutering, and boarding costs for puppies in heat.

The Yappy Howl-O-Ween celebration is a chance for pups to strut their stuff in their favorite costume. A panel of judges will determine which canine will take home the prize in the costume categories of Scariest, Funniest, Most Glamorous and, of course, Best in Show. First place prize in each category is a hand-painted dog bowl by Debby Carman of Faux Paws Productions. Cost to enter the costume contest is $10 per canine.
Santa Claus makes a special appearance at the Yappy Howl-iday Celebration. This festive gathering provides Fido with the opportunity to be photographed with the “Big Dog” himself – Santa Claus. In keeping with the resort's Season of Giving, guests are asked to bring unopened canned or dry dog food, treats or dog toys to be donated to an animal rescue organization.
