Telluride is Reclaiming Summer

Telluride is Reclaiming Summer

Covid-19 took a lot from Americans, but as restrictions continue to ease, the town of Telluride, CO, is determined to have a safe Summer 2020. On June 1, San Miguel County issued a new Public Health Order to open up several sectors of the economy, and effectively allow visitors from out of the town and state. In Telluride, visitors are part of the community, so everyone must do their part to enjoy the available options safely, while keeping the health of the community a priority.

What to Do

June 15, the Telluride Gondola resumed service, and the image of the gondola finally moving along the Telluride mountain range served as a beacon of hope to the locals. Other naturally socially distant summer activities to enjoy in the outdoors include rafting, fly fishing, horseback riding, hiking, and biking (the Telluride Bike Park is set to open on June 26). Mountain Adventure Equipment even offers delivery for those still wary of entering shops. Private, state, and federal campgrounds are now open, while retail, personal services, and childcare and summer day camps can resume operations - with restrictions and precautionary measures in place. There is an activity for every adventurer in Telluride!

Regarding events, many festivals have unfortunately been cancelled, but with notable returnees, The Telluride Film Festival and the Telluride Blues and Brews Festival in September. Check the festivals and events page for updates.
