Thanksgiving & Christmas Offerings at Lake Placid's Whiteface Lodge

In preparation for the most wonderful time of the year, Lake Placid’s all-suite luxury retreat, Whiteface Lodge, is offering festive feasts with three new holiday menus at the resort’s upscale restaurant, Kanu. Helmed by Executive Chef Sébastien Roelly, who joined Whiteface Lodge earlier this year, these new menus include Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Holiday cuisine inspired by Chef Roelly’s European roots and the bounties of the surrounding Adirondack Mountains region.

Kanu’s holiday menus feature:

  • Four-course Thanksgiving prix-fixe menu, served on Nov. 25: Start off with an Amuse-Bouche of Brussel sprouts and caramelized pecans, then select from the starter menu featuring a choice between Corn Bread with whipped spice butter or Roasted Squash Soup made with chorizo oil. For the main course, guests can choose between a Turkey Stuffed Roll with leek and bacon stuffing, potato puree, green beans, and glazed carrots; Roasted Salmon with a hazelnut and herb crust, roasted parsnips, and fennel; or Roasted Butternut Squash Risotto with sage and parmesan. For dessert, Chef Roelly will prepare a delicious Apple Crumble Pie. Kanu’s Thanksgiving menu is $80 per person, exclusive of tax, gratuity, and beverages.
  • Four-course Christmas prix-fixe menu, served on December 25: First course options include Christmas Terrine made with pork, foie gras, and rabbit, served with fig jelly and brioche or a Lobster and Seafoods Millefeuille made with saffron and a tomato cream sauce. For the second course, guests will be served a Chestnut and Cauliflower Cream Soup. A delicious line up of main dish selections includes Duck Confit with salardaises potatoes and green beans; Roasted Red Snapper with artichokes and a rock shrimp remoulade; or Sweet Potato Risotto with sage and parmesan. Dessert will feature a Buche de Noel made from coffee buttercream and hazelnut cake. Kanu’s Christmas dinner is $100 per person, exclusive of tax, gratuity, and beverages.
  • Three-course Holiday prix-fixe menu served December 19 – January 3: The feast begins with choice of Seasonal Root Vegetable Soup or an Endive Salad with apples and blue cheese. The main course offers guests a choice between a Filet Mignon Rossini with black truffles, foie gras, potato puree and asparagus; Red Snapper with a crispy potato skin, and tomato and spinach couscous; or a Butternut Squash Rigatoni with brown butter, sage, and ricotta. Guests can end the meal on a sweet note with a Chocolate and Candied Chestnut Pot de Crème. Kanu’s Holiday menu is $89 per person exclusive of tax, gratuity, and beverages.

Whiteface Lodge is the perfect place to spend Thanksgiving away from home and of course, an autumnal visit means leaf peeping all around, as Lake Placid boasts one of the longest fall foliage seasons in the country.

Travel Package

The hotel is currently offering a 4th Night Free Package, available now through March 2022. Guests have their choice of accommodations—one-, two- or three-bedroom suite—and a complimentary full breakfast each morning for all members of the party.
