The Alpina Gstaad Celebrates Grand Opening with Prince Albert II of Monaco
Owners Marcel Bach (left) and Jean-Claude Mimran (right) as well as Managing Director Niklaus Leuenberger joined Prince Albert for a ribbon cutting and inaugural ceremony officially opening the first five-star hotel to be built in Gstaad in 100 years.

British soul and Grammy-winning artist Joss Stone was the headliner at a concert in The Alpina Gstaad's ballroom while Larry Woodley and Bernard Henchoz carried out the musical excitement in public areas throughout the hotel. Culinary highlights were orchestrated by executive Chef Marcus G. Lindner and his team.

Located in Gtaad's exclusive hilltop area called Oberbort, the hotel offers 56 rooms and suites with expansive views of the Bernese Alps and the Saanenland. The Five-Star-Superior-Hotel offers a modern yet distinctive Swiss alpine experience based on warmth and authenticity. Highlights include the expansive Panorama Suite, which extends over two floors; the Six Senses Spa with 12 treatment rooms, a salt room, hammam and infinity pools; three signature restaurants including Sommet for international cuisine, a traditional Swiss Stübli and the first European outpost of the Japanese gourmet restaurant MEGU; a "Vinothek" for wine tasting and a wine cellar offering rare bottles from Switzerland, Italy and France; a private cinema for 2-D and 3-D presentations; a Cuban-inspired fumoir and an adventure room for children.
