Prior to the pandemic, interest in golf began declining and the real estate market became oversaturated with golf properties. However, the pandemic created a need for social distance and outdoor activities, leading many to rediscover golf. According to the Sotheby International Realty 2021 Luxury Outlook report, there was a 26 percent increase in golf property searches from January 2020 to February 2021, compared to the same period in 2019. This trend doesn’t seem to be going away anytime soon, with golf rounds up more than 37 percent nationwide as reported in the December 2021 Golf Datatech monthly report.
With interest in golf remaining strong as we enter the third year of the pandemic, and no sign of the golf real estate market slowing down, there has been an even greater demand for communities that offer access to golf courses.
