The Botany, a new independent resort located on one of the most untouched coastal enclaves in St. Thomas, is now taking reservations for stays in spring 2027 and beyond.
Set within the 300-acre Preserve at Botany Bay, The Botany will feature just 20 villas, offering an unusually intimate experience only minutes from the airport. The resort sits near Mermaid’s Chair, where the Caribbean Sea and Atlantic Ocean converge, with access to secluded beaches, historic stone ruins and dramatic coastal landscapes.
Designed with the belief that the land is the true architect, the villas incorporate private terraces, vaulted ceilings, exposed beams, floor-to-ceiling glass and Native Virgin Islands blue volcanic stone. Each offers indoor and outdoor showers, while select two- and three-bedroom residences include private pools. Two resort pools, a three-treatment-room spa, boutique, fitness center and open-air yoga pavilion complete the experience. The hotel will also introduce the dining concept of Ginger Thomas. Named for the island's national flower, it will offer fine dining that celebrates Caribbean flavors through a contemporary culinary lens. Additional dining concepts include a coffee shop serving specialty coffee, light bites, grab-and-go, beach picnics built to order, and a bar at each pool.
Personalization begins before arrival, with a dedicated team curating each stay around the guest’s interests. Experiences range from island-hopping excursions to dinner sails. Directly on property, guests can also enjoy unique experiences such as candlelit beach rituals, private beach dinners, sunrise rituals, and more. Sustainability is designed to be both visible and operational: The Botany will run predominantly on solar energy for much of the year and collect rainwater across its villas and public spaces.
