The Brando In French Polynesia Awarded Three Michelin Keys - The Highest Distinction

The Brando, a luxury resort on French Polynesia’s beautiful private atoll of Tetiaroa, announced that it has been awarded Three MICHELIN Keys in the 2025 MICHELIN Guide hotel selection, the highest distinction bestowed by the Guide to recognize ‘the most outstanding’ hotels.

Announced in early October, this year’s global unveiling of the MICHELIN Keys marks a defining moment in contemporary hospitality. Expanding its reach to nearly 100 new countries, including the first-ever recognition of hotels across Oceania, the MICHELIN Guide celebrates properties that embody character and a true sense of place. Within this inaugural Oceania selection spanning Australia, New Zealand, Fiji, and French Polynesia, The Brando is just one of two hotels in the region to receive the coveted Three-Key accolade.

The MICHELIN Keys, now in their second year, are the hotel equivalent of the MICHELIN Stars long awarded to restaurants. They honor establishments that go beyond comfort and service to offer transformative, unforgettable experiences. Spanning 143 Three-Keys, 572 Two-Keys and 1,742 One-Key hotels, Inspectors found Key hotels in every corner of the world, with The Brando shining as a beacon of sustainable luxury.

Located 30 miles north of Tahiti, The Brando offers 35 villas and one private residence, each with a private beach and plunge pool, complemented by refined restaurants, a serene Polynesian spa, and naturalist-guided excursions led by the Tetiaroa Society, the resort’s non-profit partner. Rooted in respect for its natural surroundings, The Brando remains a pioneer in environmental stewardship, setting a global benchmark for sustainability in hospitality.

“We are deeply honored by this recognition,” says Christophe Adam, General Manager of The Brando. “The Three MICHELIN Keys reflect our commitment to offering a form of luxury that is meaningful and responsible - one that celebrates Polynesian culture and preserves the extraordinary environment of Tetiaroa for generations to come.”

As part of the first MICHELIN Keys in Oceania, The Brando’s inclusion affirms its place among the world’s most exceptional hotels where innovation, culture, and nature coexist in perfect harmony.
