The Coolest Places this Summer are in The Mountains with Abercrombie & Kent Villas
Abercrombie & Kent Villas has put together a truly stellar collection of the best mountain homes for summer holidays. Super luxurious yet family friendly, each has a private spa, a swimming pool and every amenity imaginable. And given there's nothing like mountain air and the outdoor fun of the Alps to build an appetite, this brilliant collection also focuses on chalets with fine dining – either courtesy of an in-house chef or at a local fabulous restaurant.

Verbier is a well-known hot spot for sensational chalets and equally sensational restaurants. In the heights of the village, Chalet Nyumba accommodates up to 14 in magnificent mountain style with stunning views through floor to ceiling windows, an extensive spa finished in green marble, a cinema and self-contained annexe ideal for nannies. Chalet Norte is another glittering gem in the same area for up to 16 guests. A traditional exterior conceals a sleek designer interior studded with the latest techno gadgets and a spa that is one of the biggest and best in the Alps.

Not surprisingly, Verbier's restaurants are legendary. Chalet d'Adrien is a Michelin starred gourmet wonder in the village whilst Chez Dany is renowned for its mountain location and traditional specialities; arriving here by snowmobile and descending by torchlight makes for a truly memorable evening.

In Zermatt, Chalet Les Anges is sheer bliss for up to 14, especially if they're gourmands. At the cutting edge of new age Alpine chic, it brings the mountain to Mohammed with not only a spa and stunning views of the Matterhorn, but a Michelin star trained chef to delight its lucky residents. Just outside the village centre with amazing panoramic views across the village and mountains, Chalet Zermatt Peak is a triumph of restrained modern opulence. Sleeping up to 13 it has an extensive spa, gym and cinema as well as a brilliant chef just waiting to conjure up gastronomic pyrotechnics that will leave the taste buds swooning.

For those who can drag themselves away from their chalet, Zermatt's restaurants are world class. Ristorante Capri is a long-time holder of a Michelin star for its Mediterranean cooking, Restaurant Heimberg is a recent arrival into the hallowed Michelin circle, whilst Chez Vrony is also a gourmet award winner and the coolest place to eat up the mountain.

Over in Chamonix Chalet Amazon Creek is a spectacular pad for up to 10 guests and lies in a picturesque woodland setting next to a mountain stream. It offers extensive spa facilities and a cinema and can be rented in conjunction with the nearby Chalet Baby Bear and Chalet Baloo (which sleep 4 and 8 respectively) for a summer party never to be forgotten.

Chamonix itself is blessed with plentiful restaurants of the spectacular variety, including Le Bistrot, whose young and inspired chef has been the proud holder of a Michelin star since 2007 and whose seasonal, local ingredients are transformed into cuisine that is deceptively simple and executed with perfection.
