The Langham, London has launched a brand-new afternoon tea collection, as part of a series of teas in Palm Court  inspired by the nation’s favorite biscuits. An established member of London’s afternoon tea scene, Palm Court has served up some of the finest cakes and pastries for over a century, putting a modern twist on classic favorites.

Priced from £65pp, guests can expect a truly decadent spread of delights, with the menu overseen by Michel Roux Jr. and created by Executive Pastry Chef Andrew Gravett. The elegant interpretations of classic biscuits include the Crème de la Crème reimagining of a Custard Cream with a dulcey chocolate shell, intense Madagascan vanilla cream, caramel cake, and éclat. The Pink Wafer at Palm Court features Ivoire and poppy crunch, coquelicot cremeux and seasonal rhubarb, whilst the Fancy a Fondant? take on the French Fancy combines camomile cream, baba, and granny smith compote. Chocolate enthusiasts will delight in the Mini Roll inspired confection comprising Valrhona Caraïbe 66% sponge and unctuous chocolate nama, and the Tiffinesque – chocolate sponge topped with caramelised white chocolate cream, marshmallow, and hazelnuts.

These sweet treats are all served alongside traditional delicate finger sandwiches including Classic cucumber, cream cheese and chive, Roast beef, caramelized onions and stilton and Hot smoked salmon, sour cream and dill. There is also a selection of freshly baked scones, with a savory option of Ploughman’s cheese scone with Isle of Mull cheddar and tamarind chutney, followed by plain and raisin scones served with Cornish clotted cream and seasonal preserves.

The drink offering is just as impressive as the food, and guests can explore an extensive range of teas with the assistance of the tea sommelier. For an additional £10pp diners can try COPENHAGEN Organic sparkling tea or add a glass of English sparkling wine from Gusbourne for £15pp or a glass of Taittinger Brut Reserve for £21pp.
