The Lodge at Sonoma Launches New ‘Pedal For Pinot’ Experience

The Lodge at Sonoma, an Autograph Collection hotel  – the recently transformed resort located in the heart of wine country – is celebrating the region’s famed autumn harvest season with the debut of two seasonal experiences. Whether travelers are embracing California Wine Month in September with a new “Pedal for Pinot” experience or sipping delicious cocktails that give back to the local community, The Lodge at Sonoma invites travelers to uncork the salt-of-the-earth spirit of Sonoma this harvest season.

Pedal for Pinot

Sonoma is home to some of the world’s best Pinot Noir wines, and guests staying at The Lodge at Sonoma have easy access to numerous tasting rooms located 1 mile from the property. To help visitors get there, the resort is offering a new “Pedal for Pinot” experience in which guests are given complimentary bikes to pedal to, and indulge in, some of the region’s best wines. To guide the experience, guests receive a colorful, easy-to-follow keepsake map commissioned by Illustrator Erin Cockayne to nearby tasting rooms and wineries. Highlights include Gundlach Bundschu Winery, Buena Vista Winery , Sebastiani, Walt Winery, Sojourn Winery, Texture, and Cochon Tasting Bar, among others. The “Pedal for Pinot” experience also includes insider tips from Sonoma experts to take full advantage of the off-the-beaten path places in the destination. In between tastings, explorers can refer to the map for other local treasures, such as Sonoma Plaza and Sonoma Museum of Art.

Get Off Your High Horse Cocktail

Aside from being a world-class wine and culinary destination, part of what makes Sonoma so special is its strong sense of community and willingness to support others. Honoring this commitment, The Lodge at Sonoma is offering a special give-back opportunity at its brand-new High Horse Bar. Aptly named, the horse trailer turned endearing poolside bar pokes fun (in good spirits) at its fellow wine country city, Napa. The resort is adding a brand-new “Get Off Your High Horse” cocktail to the menu, whose proceeds will benefit both wine country communities in the spirit of collaboration and giving back. The libation captures the playful and adventurous essence of Sonoma, featuring Sonoma rye whiskey, mezcal and tequila, combined with spicy mango puree and served in a tall, Tajin-rimmed glass. For every cocktail sold, the resort will donate a portion of proceeds to Sonoma Food Runners – whose mission is to alleviate hunger, prevent food waste and build community – and Community Action of Napa Valley – which provides food and shelter in support of their low income community members through their food bank, Meals on Wheels program, free food market and more.

In tandem with the various events and offerings in Sonoma available annually during harvest season and California Wine Month, there are endless ways for travelers to experience the season to its fullest.
