The Milestone London Unmasks American Misconception

The Milestone London Unmasks American Misconception
Starting April 12, The Milestone will be serving its very own version of High Tea at the hotel's signature Cheneston's restaurant. A savory feast fit for a king or queen, Welsh rarebit, warm mini pies, chicken noodle soup and maple syrup cured bacon scones with truffle butter are just some of the dishes that will be served during this indulgent tea time.

High Tea first became popular during Britain's industrial revolution in the 19th Century, when workers had to wait until the end of the day to enjoy their "tea time." After a hard day's work, the usual tea sandwiches and scones weren't substantial enough, thus transforming into the more filling High Tea which, for many, was their nightly supper.

The Milestone's High Tea will be served daily at 3PM. Afternoon Tea will still be offered daily at 1PM, 3PM or 5PM in The Park Lounge or The Conservatory. The High Tea at The Milestone is priced at £50 (approx. US$72) per person. Find a sample menu here.
