The Oberoi Beach Resort, Al Zorah, recognized as one of the best biodiverse resorts in the UAE, is celebrating its five-year anniversary in 2022. To celebrate the occasion, the multi-award-winning resort is launching its newly refurbished seafood restaurant, Aquario, with a renewed commitment to environmental protection and long-term sustainability.
Located just 25 minutes by car from Dubai and set in the midst of nature, Al Zorah feels like a world away from its bustling urban counterpart. At the heart of Al Zorah, lies The Oberoi Beach Resort, Al Zorah, a paradise for luxury travellers and nature lovers with lush green mangroves on one side, the azure blue Arabian Gulf on the other, and exquisite facilities topped off with impeccable, heartfelt hospitality, throughout. The resort is framed by one million square meters of pristine natural white sand beaches, protected forests, and lagoons that nurture a rich biodiversity of over 100 species of birds, pink flamingos, fish nurseries, and offshore coral. The Oberoi Beach Resort, Al Zorah the ultimate luxury retreat.
The Oberoi Beach Resort, Al Zorah presents contemporary, minimalist architecture courtesy of the Italian architect and designer, Piero Lissoni. The main hotel is composed of individual buildings connected by naturally lit walkways. Shallow pools extend across the inner courtyard, where the main restaurant and facilities are situated. An outer cladding of wood panels creates a play of light and shadow as day changes to night, while simple lines project out from the façade in one continuous move. The resort features wide open spaces and a natural white and beige colour palette that harmonises with the panoramic ocean vistas and long white sandy beaches that surround the resort. Guests can choose from mangrove, garden, or ocean views to soak up the resort’s spectacular 360 vistas. Every detail has been conceived for the guest’s utmost comfort and pleasure.
The resort’s 56 rooms and 33 suites and villas, including both two and three-bedroom private villas with 24-hour private butler service, are flooded with natural light and fantastic garden and sea views. Each of the rooms and suites offers private terraces, while the villas also feature temperature controlled, private pools. The interior design is sophisticated and elegant, conceived in white with touches of teal, chartreuse, blue, green, and red. Patterned wall tiles in the rooms and dining areas add a playful touch to the elegant design. While enjoying private garden barbecues or relaxing on their terraces, guests can take advantage of the resort’s personalised in-room services, listen to the birds, gaze at the stars, or hear the waves lapping the nearby shore.
To celebrate the resort's five-year anniversary, Aquario, the resort’s luxury beachfront seafood restaurant, has undergone an extensive refurbishment to enhance each guest’s dining experience. The newly designed entrance feels like entering a beautiful glass structure. Inside the restaurant, an intricate Islamic Mashrabiya ceiling and handwoven rugs lend warmth and texture. The new bar design is contemporary and sophisticated and provides guests with space to enjoy picturesque views of the beach in a comfortable and luxurious setting. Aquario has a relaxed feel during the day and comes alive at night with resident DJs and singers performing against a backdrop of seemingly floating solar lanterns and the Arabian Sea.
Since opening in 2017, The Oberoi Beach Resort, Al Zorah has continued to implement initiatives that will minimise environmental impact in alignment with The Oberoi Group and Al Zorah Development’s sustainability vision to provide a luxury retreat for travellers while preserving the natural beauty of Al Zorah, and by working towards long term environmental sustainability for present and future generations. The resort actively seeks out suppliers to source environmentally friendly ingredients that are sustainably and responsibly sourced and organic, wherever possible.
